LEEDS, June 30, 2026 — Kerala Canteen Sunday Roast debuts a new take on the British classic this weekend, serving a curried T-bone steak inside a giant Yorkshire pudding at its Leeds dining room.

At the heart of the reinvented Sunday Roast is the restaurant’s signature Curried T-Bone Steak, paired with slow-cooked beef and bone marrow curry, gunpowder hasselback potatoes, seasonal vegetables and traditional roast trimmings, according to the restaurant’s announcement.

Kerala Canteen Sunday Roast merges Indian spice and Yorkshire tradition

The dish reflects Kerala Canteen’s mission to blend authentic South Indian flavors with local British produce. The giant Yorkshire pudding serves as a base for the curried T-bone steak, combining two culinary traditions in a single plate that diners can share or enjoy individually.

Consultant Chef Bobby Geetha says the recipe stems from a desire to preserve the integrity of both food cultures. “Yorkshire has one of Britain’s greatest food traditions — the Sunday roast. Kerala has some of the world’s most exciting spices and cooking techniques. At Kerala Canteen we’re bringing these two food cultures together while staying true to both,” Geetha said in a statement.

What makes this Sunday roast different

Unlike a conventional Sunday roast, which typically features roasted cuts of meat with gravy and vegetables, the new offering infuses the prime cut with a spice blend inspired by Kerala cuisine. The T-bone steak is seared, spiced and served amid rich curry accompaniments inside the oversized Yorkshire pudding shell. :
