The restaurant, launched by owners Kulwinder Kaur and Manjit Singh, expands on a popular Indian food trailer that had served local customers for several seasons. Taste of Punjab now offers an expanded menu including tandoori dishes, lamb curries and long-time favorites such as samosa chaat and masala-spiced fries.

Indian restaurant brings expanded menu and chefs

Rajvir Singh, son of the owners, said the family added chefs experienced with tandoor ovens and traditional curry preparation to enhance the dining menu. “We can offer food that’s never been offered before at Taste of Punjab,” he said.

The restaurant occupies the space formerly home to a Subway sandwich shop and is open weekdays from 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., closing on Wednesdays. Prices for entrees range from $13 to $20, while starters run from $4 to $13.

Community reception and future plans

The family plans to use the original food trailer for catering and special events while focusing daily operations on the new location. In warmer months, outdoor seating is expected to supplement indoor dining. The family also aims to tour the trailer around the Upper Valley with street-style dishes such as stuffed flatbreads and regional samosa varieties.

This opening adds to West Lebanon’s growing range of Indian dining options, complementing existing establishments in the area and reflecting broader interest in diverse cuisines in the region.

More information about Indian cuisine and its regional diversity can be explored through Indian cuisine history and traditions.
