Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC) and Novotel Jaipur Convention Centre, managed by Accor, have appointed Kunal Bajpai as Director of Engineering. With more than 12 years of experience in hospitality engineering, Kunal will oversee technical operations and sustainability initiatives across the integrated convention and hotel complex.

In his new role, Bajpai will lead engineering and maintenance operations across the property. His responsibilities include ensuring operational efficiency, driving energy management initiatives, maintaining safety compliance, and supporting infrastructure performance. He will also focus on strengthening sustainability practices and ensuring adherence to operational standards across both the hotel and convention centre.

Professional Background and Experience

Kunal Bajpai brings extensive expertise in engineering operations, project management, and sustainability within the hospitality sector. Prior to this appointment, he served as Chief Engineer at Tajsats Air Catering Ltd., where he led key infrastructure projects. These included the development of an in-flight kitchen at Noida International Airport, recognised as India’s first IGBC-certified green campus airport, and a cloud kitchen project in Gurgaon focused on institutional catering operations.

His earlier career includes associations with hospitality groups such as IHCL and Marriott International. During these assignments, he managed large-scale engineering operations, implemented energy optimisation strategies, and contributed to sustainability-driven initiatives across multiple properties.

Technical Expertise and Achievements

Over the course of his career, Kunal Bajpai has built expertise in facility management, ESG implementation, energy optimisation, safety compliance, and pre-opening projects. He has also led engineering teams while maintaining operational standards across complex hospitality environments.

His work in sustainability and innovation has been recognised through multiple certifications, including EarthCheck Gold and Platinum standards achieved across hospitality properties under his leadership.

Novotel Jaipur Convention Centre and JECC form a large integrated hospitality and events complex located in Sitapura, Jaipur. The hotel features 226 rooms, a grand ballroom, multiple meeting spaces, and an all-day dining restaurant. The adjoining Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre spans 42 acres and includes large pillarless halls designed for exhibitions, conventions, and events.

The combined complex is positioned to cater to meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE), as well as weddings and large-scale events.
