Cathay Pacific Appoints New Korean Representative as It Plans to Boost Service and Connectivity
Cathay Pacific has appointed Yang Seok‑ho as its new head of Korea, aiming to strengthen its presence in the Korean market and enhance connectivity, including increased flights from Incheon to Hong Kong.
Cathay Pacific Airways, marking its 80th anniversary, has appointed Yang Seok‑ho as its new representative for South Korea and head of the travel and lifestyle division, signalling a renewed focus on the Korean market.
Yang Seok‑ho, an aviation industry veteran with over 30 years of experience at Cathay Pacific, most recently as managing director of sales, will lead the airline’s efforts to grow its local market presence and customer engagement in South Korea.
The airline said the appointment underlines its commitment to strengthening strategies tailored to Korean travellers and deepening relationships with local partners. Cathay Pacific also plans to increase flight frequencies from Incheon Airport to Hong Kong to five daily services starting late March, enhancing connectivity for both business and leisure passengers.
Korean aviation observers note that expanded services from Incheon — one of East Asia’s busiest international hubs — reflect rising demand for high‑frequency connections between Korea and Hong Kong, driven by growing tourism and business travel.
As Cathay Pacific celebrates eight decades in the airline industry, the leadership change and service expansion in Korea aim to bolster passenger growth, strengthen brand loyalty, and capture a larger share of the competitive East Asian travel market
