Renaissance Bengaluru Race Course Hotel has announced the appointment of Bhaskar Gajapathy as its Director of Human Resources. With over 12 years of experience in Human Resource Management within luxury and premium hospitality environments, Bhaskar brings deep expertise in people strategy, organizational culture building, and aligning HR practices with business objectives.
Extensive Experience in Luxury Hospitality HR
Bhaskar’s professional expertise spans workforce planning, recruitment, compensation and benefits, statutory compliance, employee relations, training and development, and driving diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives through targeted hiring and progressive HR policies. In his current role, he plays a pivotal part in shaping people strategies that strengthen organizational culture while supporting long-term business goals.
Prior to joining Renaissance Bengaluru Race Course Hotel, Bhaskar served as Assistant Director of Human Resources at Coorg Marriott Resort & Spa, where he contributed significantly to talent development, associate engagement, and operational alignment.
A Strong Marriott Journey and Pre-Opening Expertise
Bhaskar began his hospitality career with Trident Chennai before joining the Marriott group at JW Marriott Sahar, Mumbai. Over the years, he has managed large workforces of over 500 associates and held key HR leadership roles across multiple luxury properties.
His career includes involvement in several marquee pre-opening and task-force assignments such as Coorg Marriott Resort & Spa, Courtyard by Marriott Trichy, Courtyard by Marriott Shillong, Sheraton Colombo, JW Marriott Pune, and Four Points by Sheraton. These experiences have provided him with a well-rounded perspective across luxury hospitality operations and corporate HR environments.

Education and Leadership Style
An alumnus of DG Vaishnav College, Chennai, Bhaskar Gajapathy holds a Master’s degree in Social Work (HR). He is widely recognised for his collaborative leadership style, people-first approach, and ability to create compliant, inclusive, and engaging workplaces.
