BAGUIATI, June 12, 2026 — The Yellow Turtle introduces colour dimsums and kushiyaki grills as headline features in its latest menu at its Baguiati outlet, combining South-East Asian influences with creative kitchen techniques for diners in eastern Kolkata.
The restaurant, led by owner Apeksha Lahiri, launched the updated menu this month at its 45-seat setting by VIP Road with a focus on visual presentation and bold flavours from countries such as Thailand, Indonesia and Japan, restaurant officials said. Charcoal dim sum varieties and a selection of kushiyaki grilled skewers have emerged as the biggest draws.

The menu includes charcoal-infused cheese dim sum served in Thai green curry, plus ten different dim sum types made with natural colourants like beet extract and soy for easy identification in service. Kushiyaki grills described by the chef as Asian-style char-grilled kebabs are offered in mushroom, tofu, chicken and pork options with sauces such as teriyaki, miso and hoisin enhancing the savoury profiles.
Chef Arun Show said the kushiyaki grills are accompanied by jasmine rice and crisp salad, with live charcoal presentation adding a sensory element to the dining experience.
Pan-Asian influences and complementary offerings
Alongside the signature dimsums and grills, the new menu features interpretive South-East Asian dishes including Nasi Goreng with glazed yakitori, fried tofu cake and sesame prawn dumplings. Dishes draw on home-made curry pastes crafted from lemongrass, kaffir lime and galangal, chefs explained.
The drinks list includes cool Iced Teas and jelly coffee to counter Kolkata’s summer heat, restaurant staff said. Lahiri noted the menu update marks a continued effort to innovate while preserving familiar regional tastes for returning customers.
The Yellow Turtle opened its Baguiati location after relocating from a previous Address in Sector V due to permit issues, the owner added. The venue also includes a bar licence and an adjoining banquet hall capable of hosting about one hundred fifty guests for private events, reinforcing the restaurant’s aim to expand service options for local food enthusiasts.
