Chicken satay arrives glistening under a sky just beginning to soften toward evening, the ocean stretching unbroken past the deck railing while guests settle into cushioned seating that feels closer to a beach club than a ship. This is Solmar Terrace, the newest dining venue aboard Regent Seven Seas Prestige, an exclusive al fresco addition that Regent Seven Seas Cruises has just unveiled as part of a broader culinary expansion across the vessel.

A Second New Venue for a Debut Ship Class

Solmar Terrace joins Azure as the second new culinary venue introduced aboard Seven Seas Prestige, Regent's first entirely new ship class in more than a decade. Located aft of Compass Rose on deck 5 and open from noon to 6pm, the restaurant blends relaxed elegance with globally inspired flavours, positioned specifically for leisurely daytime dining alongside sweeping ocean views rather than formal evening service.

A Menu Built for Grazing

Solmar's daytime menu ranges widely, from mezze style appetisers and sushi to tapas and yakitori, giving guests flexibility depending on mood and appetite. Fresh gazpacho and a rotating sushi roll of the day sit alongside a varied yakitori grill selection, while Asian inspired small plates include Korean beef short rib, chicken or shrimp satay, teriyaki pork belly, king oyster mushroom, and Japanese broiled salmon. Dessert options lean indulgent, with tres leches cake and crema Catalana closing out the meal on a genuinely sweet note.

What Regent Says This Expansion Represents

Wesley D'Silva, President of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, framed the new venues as central to what makes Seven Seas Prestige distinct within the fleet. "Dining is an essential part of the Regent experience, and Seven Seas Prestige represents an exciting opportunity to further elevate our all inclusive culinary offering," he said. He went further in describing the ship's broader significance. "As the first new Regent ship class in more than a decade, Seven Seas Prestige ushers in a new era for our brand, with extraordinary new experiences throughout the ship. Solmar Terrace at Compass Rose and Azure add even more choice, variety and flexibility for guests, complementing Regent's collection of included specialty restaurants and further enriching the unrivaled ultra luxury experience that defines a Regent voyage." His comment positions these openings not as incremental menu updates, but as part of a genuinely new chapter for the brand's flagship dining philosophy.

Azure Brings the Mediterranean Aboard

Alongside Solmar Terrace, Regent has also revealed the menu for Azure, one of seven specialty restaurants and eleven dining experiences aboard the ship. Inspired by the vibrant flavours, spices and culinary traditions of the Mediterranean, Azure draws influences from Europe, Africa and Asia through a mezze style menu designed explicitly for sharing. Highlights include miso roasted eggplant, croquetas di carne served with piquillo peppers, gambas al ajillo prepared Spanish style with chili, garlic and olive oil, a chilled and spiced watermelon feta salad, lobster orzo saganaki, and duck leg confit, a lineup built around connection and discovery through small, shareable plates rather than individually plated courses.

Prime 7 Gets a Fresh Look at Its Classics

Regent's beloved specialty steakhouse Prime 7 is also receiving updated recipes, drawing inspiration from acclaimed steakhouses including Daniel's in Miami. Newly reimagined dishes include house smoked and honey roasted baby back ribs finished with steakhouse barbecue sauce, lobster thermidor, halibut fish and chips served with hot yuzu aioli and steak fries, roasted chicken supreme with spinach porcini stuffing, hashbrown tempura with lime chili salt, and truffle mac and cheese. Dessert receives similar attention, with lemon meringue pie, a fourteen layer chocolate mousse cake with drunken cherries, and a double chocolate brownie paired with tres leches ice cream rounding out the menu. These recipes will debut aboard Seven Seas Prestige before eventually rolling out across the rest of Regent's fleet.

What a Ship's Dining Program Ultimately Signals

A cruise line's investment in new specialty venues rarely happens in isolation, and Regent's decision to introduce two entirely new restaurants alongside a refreshed steakhouse menu on a single debut ship class suggests genuine confidence in dining as a defining competitive advantage within ultra luxury cruising. For guests settling into Solmar Terrace's ocean facing seats this season, that broader strategy will likely register simply as a good plate of satay, arriving exactly when the light outside starts to turn gold.
