Abhirup Bagchi Joins The Leela Bengaluru as Sales Manager

BENGALURU — The Leela Bhartiya City Bengaluru has appointed Abhirup Bagchi as Sales Manager, adding a commercial professional with experience across Accor's major convention property in Hyderabad and GreenPark Hotels and Resorts.

In his new role, Bagchi drives corporate client acquisition, revenue channel development and account partnerships at The Leela Bhartiya City Bengaluru, a property that combines a five-star hotel, convention centre, residences, dining, retail and entertainment within Bhartiya City township. His focus covers corporate accounts, MICE and key account management across a property that competes at the top end of Bengaluru's meetings and events market.

Most Recently Assistant Sales Manager at Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre

Abhirup Bagchi joins from Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre and Hyderabad International Convention Centre, where he served as Assistant Sales Manager under Accor. That posting placed him in one of India's largest and most complex convention environments, managing key accounts across rooms, events and MICE for a combined hotel and convention complex adjacent to HITEC City. His performance there earned him a Special Sales Award for exceptional results.

The experience of selling a major convention property is directly transferable to The Leela Bhartiya City Bengaluru, where the convention centre is a core revenue driver alongside the hotel and residences.

GreenPark Hotels and Management Trainee Foundation

Before Accor, Bagchi spent close to three years with GreenPark Hotels and Resorts Limited, working primarily at Avasa Hotels in Hyderabad. He joined as a Sales Management Trainee and was promoted to Assistant Sales Manager after approximately two years. During the trainee period, he was recognised as Management Trainee of the Quarter. His time at GreenPark gave him his first structured corporate sales experience, covering rooms, F&B and corporate account development across upscale hotel environments.

Earlier in his career, he completed an industrial traineeship at The Leela Ambience Gurugram Hotel and Residences, gaining on-floor exposure across PR and marketing, front office, food production and F&B service. That early exposure to The Leela brand makes his return to the group at a commercial level a natural fit.

Abhirup Bagchi holds a diploma in hospitality administration from the Institute of Hotel Management, Bhubaneswar.
