Kimpton EPIC Hotel, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle portfolio, has appointed Clement Durand as Director of Food & Beverage. Based in Miami, he will lead culinary and beverage operations across the property, bringing international hospitality experience across Europe and Asia.

In his new role, Clement Durand is responsible for managing all food and beverage operations at Kimpton EPIC Hotel. This includes oversight of dining venues, menu development, and guest dining experiences.

He will lead operations at Area 31 restaurant and other outlets, focusing on enhancing service standards, improving dining concepts, and strengthening the hotel’s position in Miami’s competitive hospitality market.

Durand will work closely with the leadership team to implement programming that aligns with global culinary trends while reflecting local influences.

International Hospitality Background

Clement Durand brings global hospitality experience shaped across Europe and Asia. Born in France, he trained at École Hôtelière Le Touquet, where he gained early exposure to both front-of-house and kitchen operations.

During his early career, he worked with Michelin-starred restaurants and luxury hotels, including Le Pavillon at the Westminster Hotel, Le Château de Ligny, and Les Fermes de Marie.

He further expanded his experience through a culinary programme in Chengdu, China, and contributed to the opening of a resort and spa property in Mallorca, Spain.

Leadership Roles Across Global Brands : Clement Durand 

Durand later joined Swire Hotels in Hong Kong, where he spent seven years progressing through operational and corporate roles. Starting as Assistant Manager at The Continental Restaurant, he advanced to overseeing food and beverage operations at a group level.

His responsibilities included supporting new hotel openings and managing portfolio-level food and beverage strategies, strengthening his operational and strategic expertise.

In 2023, he returned to on-property leadership as Assistant Director of Food & Beverage at EAST Miami. He most recently served as Director of Food & Beverage at Andaz Miami Beach.
