Burton's Grill & Bar Parsippany Opens at New District 15Fifteen
Burton's Grill & Bar Parsippany opens at District 15Fifteen on Route 10 with 243 seats, a 64 seat patio and a bar. It is the chain's first New Jersey site.
A long covered patio stretches along a glass front, lined with white topped tables and a patterned banquette. Woven pendant lamps glow under a timber ceiling, and a ceiling fan turns above a wall mounted screen. A few guests sit at a far table. This is the outdoor side of Burton's Grill & Bar Parsippany.
The restaurant held a VIP grand opening on Oct. 19 at District 15Fifteen, a new mixed use complex on Route 10. William Westhoven of the Morristown Daily Record reported the story on October 21, 2026. It marks the first business of its kind in a project that has been more than a decade in the making.
What Burton's Grill & Bar Parsippany Offers
The restaurant covers 7,400 square feet. It has a 243 seat dining room and a 30 seat bar. A private dining room holds up to 46 guests. The patio seats 64 and has ceiling fans, lighting, overhead heaters and lounge seating.
This is the chain's first New Jersey location and its 26th overall. For readers searching for Burton's Grill & Bar New Jersey, the Route 10 address is now the one to know. The report does not describe the menu or prices.
Planting a Flag in Morris County
John Haggai, CEO of Boston based Burton's, said the site was ideal for the first New Jersey restaurant. "We're planting our flag in Parsippany," he said. The company had been looking for the right spot, the right development and the right community.
He added that the project "fits us really well." He also said, "Morris County is fantastic." The remark matters because it shows a chain choosing a place for its setting. A new development with homes on site brings steady guests close to the door. This is the kind of site that makes Burton's Grill Parsippany NJ a notable addition.
What Local Leaders Said
Township officials joined the evening. Mayor Pulkit Desai and council members Judy Hernandez and Diya Patel attended. Desai said, "I love the ambiance." He added that the town would help the restaurant "in any way possible."
Patel, 24, is the youngest council member. She called it a great place for a date night, a late night cocktail or dinner with friends. "Parsippany needs more outdoor dining," she said. In her view, the patio will bring people out and make them want to live in town. This puts Burton's Grill outdoor dining at the centre of the pitch.
A Decade of Redevelopment
The council first designated the Route 10 area as needing redevelopment in 2015. The Planning Board approved the project in 2018. Stanbery Development broke ground in 2023. The complex replaces vacant office buildings.
The first residents moved in during spring 2025. Kura Sushi became the first business in August of this year. The complex has 498 residential units, more restaurant and retail space and a hotel still under construction. Together, the District 15Fifteen restaurants are meant to form a small downtown.
Marc Hays, leasing and acquisitions partner for Stanbery, said apartments are ready to be moved into. The company expected the lease up to be a little slower because of the many units nearby. "We've been pleasantly surprised with how well we've been doing," he said.
More Food and Retail on the Way
The entrance sits in a central courtyard. Other spaces include O'Bagel, Kura Sushi and a Discover Strength training center. More openings are expected before the end of the year. These are the New restaurants in Parsippany that the township hopes will bring life to the area.
Robert Peluso, a former township councilman and president of the Parsippany Area Chamber of Commerce, welcomed the news. "Having Burton as part of our community, adding jobs to the community as well, is important," he said. He noted that the new businesses are joining the chamber.
A Fair Look at the Project
A careful reading is useful. Parsippany has spent a decade solving two problems at once. One is a state mandate to build more affordable housing. The other is replacing vacant offices with tax generating property.
Builders in the township and across the state have negotiated discounted property tax deals known as PILOTs, or payments in lieu of taxes. The council approved a 30 year PILOT for District 15Fifteen in 2019. Readers may weigh that incentive differently from the restaurant news. The report also gives no public opening date after the VIP event.
Several thousand new homes are under construction or recently opened in town. Hays himself said the area already has many apartments. New places to eat often follow new places to live, as in the story of the Bury Steam Chinese Food Stall. The Burton's Grill & Bar Parsippany opening follows the same pattern.
What a Patio Promises a Town
A patio is a small promise to a town. It says that people may linger, that evenings can be spent outside and that a sidewalk can feel like a street. Parsippany has long been known for its roads and offices.
If the courtyard fills, the project may begin to feel like a place and not only a development. A heater, a fan and a table for two are modest tools. Sometimes they are enough to start a downtown.
