JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort & Spa has appointed Gaurav Issar as General Manager in April 2026 in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, the resort said, assigning him responsibility for overseeing overall operations, business strategy, and departmental performance at the hill destination property.

The resort confirmed Issar’s appointment as part of its leadership restructuring aimed at strengthening operational oversight and aligning business objectives with evolving guest demand in a seasonal tourism market. He will lead the executive team and report to regional leadership within Marriott International, the resort said.

The property, located in the Walnut Grove Estate area of Mussoorie, caters to leisure travellers, destination weddings, and corporate offsite events throughout the year.

Role Encompasses Overall Hotel Operations

As General Manager, Issar will oversee all operational departments including rooms division, food and beverage, sales, marketing, and human resources. His responsibilities include ensuring adherence to brand standards, maintaining service consistency, and monitoring operational performance across departments.

The resort said he will also be responsible for financial planning, budgeting, and revenue management to align with occupancy trends and seasonal demand patterns.

Focus on Business Strategy and Revenue Performance

Issar will lead strategic planning initiatives aimed at strengthening the resort’s market position in the hill station segment. His role includes driving room revenue, enhancing group and event bookings, and expanding corporate and leisure segments.

The resort said he will work closely with sales and marketing teams to develop targeted campaigns and partnerships to support occupancy and revenue growth.

The General Manager will coordinate with department heads to ensure smooth execution of daily operations and consistent service delivery across guest touchpoints. He will also supervise large-scale events, including weddings and conferences, ensuring alignment between operational capabilities and client expectations.
