NEW DELHI — Marriott International has promoted Rahul Puri to Market Vice President, North India, Bhutan and Nepal, placing a 25-year company veteran in charge of the region's hotel portfolio.

Puri will oversee performance across Marriott hotels in the region, working with general managers on market leadership, growth, owner relations and long-term value.

Rahul Puri's Marriott Career Began in Revenue Strategy in Beijing

Puri joined Marriott International in 2008, leading Revenue Strategy for the Beijing and Tianjin markets. He went on to serve as Area Director of Revenue Strategy for South Asia, Australia and Malaysia, before being elevated to Senior Area Director of Revenue Strategy for South Asia, where he provided strategic leadership across a portfolio of more than 100 hotels.

In 2018, Puri moved into hotel operations as Multi-Property General Manager for The Westin Gurgaon, New Delhi, and The Westin Sohna Resort and Spa. Under his leadership, both hotels strengthened their market positions and improved guest satisfaction scores, and he contributed to new food and beverage concepts and revenue streams at the properties.

Industry Role and International Background

Puri served as Chairman of the Marriott India Business Council from 2020 to 2023.

Before Marriott, he held leadership positions with InterContinental Hotels Group, Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Taj Hotels, with international experience across Australia, China, Hong Kong and Malaysia.

New Role Covers Growth and Owner Relations Across Region

As Market Vice President, Puri will lead Marriott's operations across North India, Bhutan and Nepal, with a focus on market performance, growth and long-term value creation.

Marriott International has not announced further leadership changes alongside this promotion.
