Black Rock Hotels 900 Room Expansion in Udaipur Targets 2027 Growth
Black Rock Hotels 900 room expansion in Udaipur adds six hotels through 2027, including Kingsbury, its first owned hotel with 241 rooms beside a lake.
A pale palace style hotel with rows of domes and arched balconies stands above a still lake. A tiled walkway in red and white runs across a green lawn towards it. This is a rendering, not a finished building, and it shows the Udaipur project behind the Black Rock Hotels 900 room expansion in Udaipur.
Black Rock Hotels & Resorts has announced a pipeline of about 900 additional rooms. The Rajasthan based company is expanding across North India and moving into hotel ownership. Priyal Dutta of Safari India reported the news. It is a clear sign of North India hotel expansion by a mid sized operator.
What the Black Rock Hotels 900 Room Expansion in Udaipur Includes
The company runs seven hotels with around 950 rooms today. It plans to open six more through 2027. Once completed, the portfolio is expected to reach nearly 2,000 rooms. That depends on development and opening timelines. This Black Rock Hotels & Resorts expansion would roughly double its inventory.
The pipeline has three parts. There is a first owned hotel in Udaipur and two signed properties in Jim Corbett, Uttarakhand. A hotel project in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, completes the list. Together they show hotel industry growth in India moving beyond the largest cities.
Kingsbury, the First Owned Hotel
The Kingsbury Udaipur hotel marks Black Rock's entry into ownership. It has 241 rooms and is being built beside a lake, surrounded by hills. Operations are scheduled to begin in March 2027 with around 160 rooms. The remaining rooms are expected to follow.
The property is planned for destination weddings, conferences and social events. These are the core of Udaipur destination wedding hotels and of MICE and conference hotels across Rajasthan. The venue list is large for a hotel of this size.
There will be two ballrooms of about 4,000 sq. ft. and 14,000 sq. ft. A courtyard covers 11,000 sq. ft., and a pool deck covers 6,000 sq. ft. A rooftop event space adds 10,000 sq. ft. The plan also includes three lakeside venues. Five garden spaces will range from around 10,000 to 50,000 sq. ft.
Jim Corbett and Vrindavan
In Jim Corbett, the company has signed two hotels. One has 115 rooms and the other has 135. Both are scheduled to open in October 2027. This is the heart of Black Rock Hotels Jim Corbett plans for the wildlife and weekend market.
The company has also signed a hotel project in Vrindavan. It marks the company's entry into Uttar Pradesh. The report does not give a room count or opening date for these hotel projects in Vrindavan.
The Founder's View
Anshul Bhargava, Founder and Chairman, explained the thinking. "We have built our business around operating hotels where weddings, conferences and leisure contribute substantially to revenue," he said. He called the next phase a move into new markets and into assets of its own.
He described Udaipur as "an important milestone." The reason, he said, is that the team planned the property around the needs of these segments. He added that the company is "moving towards a larger, geographically diversified portfolio." It will stay focused on "commercial viability and operating performance."
Revenue Sharing and Ownership
The existing model relies on revenue sharing, not conventional management fees. Black Rock manages staffing, operating costs and daily operations. Property owners receive an agreed share of revenue. This is how the company has grown within the Rajasthan hospitality industry.
Owned hotels add another route to growth. The company will keep working with independent owners while building and running some assets directly. This balance of hotel ownership and management is the real change in the announcement. It brings more control, and it also brings more risk.
A Fair Look at the Plan
A careful reading is useful. The report is based on the company's own announcement. Targets such as the nearly 2,000 rooms depend on development and opening timelines. Kingsbury opens in March 2027 with only part of its rooms. No investment figures, financing details or brand names were shared.
The image is a rendering, so the finished hotel may look different. Revenue sharing also depends on the strength of the weddings and events market. The 900 new hotel rooms are a plan, not yet a result. Hotel groups are also changing their teams as they grow, as in the story of the Paséa Hotel & Spa Appoints Kunal Chakrabarti.
What a Lakeside Ballroom Promises
Weddings in Udaipur are about setting as much as about food. A lake, a courtyard and a ballroom at the end of a long walkway form the scene. Hotels that can offer all three have an edge.
That is the bet behind the Black Rock Hotels 900 room expansion in Udaipur. If the weddings arrive, the rooms will fill. The next year will show whether an operator can own what it has long managed.
