NEW DELHI — JW Marriott New Delhi Aerocity has appointed Chef Saikat Sarkar as Executive Pastry Chef, adding a culinary professional with over 16 years of luxury hospitality experience to its kitchen leadership team.
Sarkar will lead pastry and bakery operations across the hotel's dining venues and banquet operations.
Chef Saikat Sarkar Brings 16 Years of Luxury Pastry Experience to JW Marriott
Sarkar's career spans Marriott International, IHCL Taj Hotels, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, The Oberoi Group and Accor, where he developed expertise in artisan baking, viennoiserie, modern plated desserts, confectionery and large-scale luxury banqueting.
He is an alumnus of the Institute of Hotel Management, Chennai, and holds a specialised certification in confectionery from Macaroon Pastry School, Bangkok.
International Culinary Awards Mark His Career
Sarkar has earned a Gold Medal at the International Culinary Challenge and Exhibition organised by Food and Hospitality Asia Maldives, a Bronze Medal in the Plated Dessert Competition at Hotel and Hospitality Asia Maldives, and first place in the Chef Competition among South Indian Institute of Hotel Management colleges.
He began his career as an industrial trainee and has progressed through every stage of the professional kitchen to reach Executive Pastry Chef level.
New Role Covers Dining Venues and Luxury Events at Aerocity Property
Chef Saikat Sarkar will oversee pastry and bakery operations across K3, Adrift Kaya, Delhi Baking Company, JW Lounge and Cabanas, as well as the hotel's banquet and catering operations. He will work with the Director of Culinary on seasonal menus, signature desserts, artisanal breads and pastry creations for luxury weddings and high-profile events.
