Lotus Lounge Yarm Restaurant Opening Set for October 24
Lotus Lounge Yarm Restaurant Opening is set for October 24 in the former Tomahawk, with a VIP launch night on October 23.
Lotus Lounge Yarm Restaurant Opening is set for Saturday, October 24, when the new Pan-Asian venue welcomes guests in the former Tomahawk on the High Street. Lotus Lounge was formerly known as Little Lotus when it operated at Sunningdale shops in Eaglescliffe. The restaurant serves dishes influenced by Thai, Cantonese and Japanese food.
Lotus Lounge Yarm Restaurant Opening Date and VIP Night
The business first started in October 2024. It has grown in popularity over the last two years. Siblings Charlie and Sadie Eggleston run the firm. They announced a rebrand to Lotus Lounge last month before confirming the move to the High Street.
A VIP launch night will take place on Friday, October 23, ahead of the official opening. A lucky couple can win a table for two by following the instructions on the venue's Facebook page. The winner will be chosen on Monday, October 19. The venue warns that it never asks winners for credit card details and urges people to watch out for scammers.
Transformation of the Former Tomahawk
Works remain underway inside the former Tomahawk. Walls, booths and furniture have been ripped out as crews create a new chapter for the space. The Tomahawk is run by the siblings' dad, Howard Eggleston. Bookings are now open for the new venue.
Once open, the bar will hold a late night licence until 2am. This adds to the choice of Pan Asian restaurant Yarm diners can now enjoy on the High Street.
A Familiar Name Returns to Yarm
The Lotus Lounge name is already known in Yarm. Howard first opened the original restaurant in July 2012. It ran for several years before gradually becoming a full Tomahawk venue. The new opening brings the name back to the town.
La Terraza Joins the Tomahawk Menu
The Spanish food spot La Terraza opened in the upstairs restaurant last October. It has won rave reviews since. It will now fuse its menu with Tomahawk. The venue will reopen on Monday, October 19, with a mix of Spanish inspired food and premium steaks.
The changes mean one building will now offer Pan-Asian, Spanish and steakhouse dining. For diners in Yarm, that widens the range on offer. For the Egglestons, it is a family project that spans several concepts under one roof.
