JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar Appoints Surat Chand to Lead Housekeeping

JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar has announced the appointment of Surat Chand as Executive Housekeeper, strengthening its operational leadership at one of Mumbai’s most prominent luxury hotels.

With close to two decades of experience in luxury hospitality, Chand brings strong expertise in housekeeping operations, service excellence, and large-team leadership—critical functions for a high-occupancy, airport-adjacent hotel.

The appointment is strategically significant as housekeeping standards play a decisive role in guest satisfaction, brand perception, and operational efficiency in premium hotels catering to both international travellers and corporate guests.

Prior to joining JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar, Chand served as Executive Housekeeper at The Westin Goa, where he led end-to-end housekeeping operations with a focus on quality control, team development, and guest-centric service delivery.

Earlier, he spent over nine years at The St. Regis Mumbai, progressing through multiple leadership roles including Assistant Housekeeping Manager and Manager – Housekeeping. His long tenure at the ultra-luxury property strengthened his expertise in managing complex operations and maintaining global brand standards.

Chand’s career foundation includes experience with leading hospitality brands such as Grand Hyatt Mumbai, InterContinental Hotels, and ITC Grand Maratha, giving him exposure to diverse operational environments and luxury service benchmarks.

In his new role, Surat Chand will oversee all housekeeping operations at JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar, with a focus on elevating cleanliness standards, driving operational efficiencies, and enhancing the overall guest experience in line with Marriott International’s global expectations.

A graduate of the Metropolitan Institute of Hotel Management, Chand is known for his disciplined operational approach and people-focused leadership style, positioning him as a key contributor to the hotel’s continued excellence.
