UAE Michelin Guide 2026 has given the country's dining scene another boost. The latest guide recognised 178 restaurants across Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Khaleej Times reported the story, and the guide itself is on the Michelin Guide website.

The fifth edition of the Michelin Guide Dubai was unveiled at Atlantis The Royal. It features 122 restaurants representing 38 cuisines. A further 56 restaurants in Abu Dhabi also earned recognition.

The selections point to the UAE's rise as a regional food capital. Strong tourism demand, a multicultural population and rising spending on dining all play a part. This UAE global dining hub story is also an economic one.

UAE Michelin Guide 2026 Reflects a Booming Food Sector

The UAE food services market was valued at $23.21 billion in 2025. The wider food products market reached $15.68 billion. The food and beverage sector is projected to grow to nearly $43.98 billion by 2029.

Tourism feeds that growth. The sector generated Dh257.3 billion, or $70 billion. That is about 14 per cent of national GDP. More than 200 nationalities live in the country, which helps create a very varied dining scene.

The UAE has nearly 26,800 restaurants and cafes. Around 13,000 of them are in Dubai alone. New concepts keep entering the market. Established venues increasingly seek global recognition through awards like the Michelin Guide.

Gwendal Poullennec is International Director of Michelin Guide. He said few cities bring together such a variety of cultures, cuisines and culinary traditions. He added that Dubai builds a dining identity that is undeniably its own.

Atrangi Retains Its Place in the UAE Michelin Guide 2026

Atrangi by Ritu Dalmia at Madinat Jumeirah kept its Michelin recognition this year. It was named a Michelin Selected restaurant for the third year in a row. It opened in 2023.

Owner Aziz Merchant said the honor reflects steady quality and resilience in a hard year. In his words, Dubai teaches you not to give up. He praised the city's leadership for understanding business continuity, hospitality and people.

Chef Ritu Dalmia said the year's recognition carries extra meaning. She said Atrangi has always been about the emotion behind food. She is proud that the team stayed together through a difficult period.
