Pegasus Airlines Ranked Fifth Most Punctual Major Airline in the World in June 2026

Pegasus Airlines achieved an on-time performance rate of 83.10% in June 2026, ranking fifth globally among major carriers operating more than 20,000 flights in the month, according to OAG's latest monthly report. The Turkish low-cost carrier kept its cancellation rate at just 0.26% across the period.

For a low-cost carrier operating in one of the world's most congested airspaces, that number is harder to achieve than it looks.

Who Pegasus Beat, and Who Beat Pegasus

The top five in OAG's Major Airlines category for June 2026 ran Qantas, Avianca, IndiGo and SAS ahead of Pegasus. The company it keeps in that list matters, Qantas is a full-service carrier with a reputation built on operational reliability, IndiGo is arguably Asia's most disciplined low-cost operator, and Avianca has spent years rebuilding its on-time credentials after its 2020 bankruptcy. Pegasus placing above all other major European and Middle Eastern carriers in the ranking puts it in genuinely elite operational company.

Why Istanbul Makes This Difficult

Pegasus operates primarily out of Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport, Turkey's second major hub, which handles over 35 million passengers annually and sits in one of the world's most complex pieces of airspace, sharing corridors with Istanbul Airport, one of the highest-traffic airports on the planet, alongside busy Middle Eastern and Eastern European routes converging overhead. Summer adds further pressure, with leisure traffic to Turkish coastal resorts pushing June flight volumes to some of the year's highest levels.

A 0.26% cancellation rate in that environment, across more than 20,000 flights in a single month, points to ground operations and scheduling discipline that most carriers twice Pegasus's size struggle to replicate.

The OTP ranking is a monthly snapshot, not a permanent standing. But fifth in the world in June is not an accident.
