BANGKOK, May 25, 2026 - Anantara Hotels & Resorts has launched a global anniversary campaign celebrating 25 years of operations, highlighting luxury hospitality experiences across its international portfolio, including curated offerings in the Maldives.
The campaign, titled 25 Years of Unforgettable Journeys, marks the brand’s expansion from a single resort in Thailand in 2001 to more than 50 hotels and resorts operating across 24 countries.
Anantara Highlights Maldives Luxury Experiences
As part of the anniversary programme, Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas is offering private stargazing experiences at the resort’s SKY overwater observatory.
The Maldives property joins a wider collection of destination-focused experiences launched across the brand’s portfolio to mark the anniversary milestone.
Anantara said the campaign reflects its long-term focus on cultural immersion, local experiences and luxury hospitality connected to each destination’s identity.
The hospitality brand first expanded internationally into the Maldives in 2006 with the opening of Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort.
Anantara Expands Global Hospitality Presence
Founded by Minor International Chairman William Heinecke, Anantara began with the opening of Anantara Hua Hin Resort in Thailand in March 2001.
The company later expanded across Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Europe, adding resort destinations as well as luxury city hotels in markets including Rome, Amsterdam, Vienna and Budapest.
Upcoming projects in the development pipeline include properties in Australia, Japan, Croatia, Egypt, Argentina and the United States.
In 2026, the brand also plans to launch Anantara Tented Camps, beginning with a luxury safari-style property near Zambia’s Kafue National Park.
Luxury Hospitality Brand Focuses on Experience-Led Travel
Hospitality executives said the anniversary campaign also emphasizes the role of personalized guest experiences and local cultural engagement in shaping the brand’s identity.
The company introduced the People Who Inspire series, featuring employees, artisans, conservationists and hospitality professionals connected to Anantara properties worldwide.
Additional anniversary experiences include private river journeys in Rome and elephant-focused conservation activities at Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort in Thailand.
Industry analysts say luxury hospitality brands continue expanding destination-based experiences as travelers increasingly seek immersive tourism connected to local culture and wellness.
