The Group Behind the Brand

Alexandre Gehlen, CEO of ICH, said the project grew out of a call from CFL. The group was already developing an upscale brand. "We feel Porto Alegre lacks a property of this kind," he said. "It is a privilege to open this hotel in our city."

The words carry weight because ICH Hotéis was born in Porto Alegre in 1999. Today it operates 45 hotels in Brazil, with more than 6,700 rooms. Its brands include Intercity, Yoo2, Hi! and Cityhome, plus franchised Tru by Hilton hotels. A second Almer is planned for Jurerê Internacional in Florianópolis in 2029.
