Three-property launch adds 112 keys across two cities

The company’s latest expansion brings a total of 112 rooms to its Uttarakhand portfolio. The 53-key Country Inn, Dehradun is located on Saharanpur Road, while Rishikesh sees the addition of two properties — a 28-room Country Inn in Tapovan and a 31-room Country Inn Smart Stays.

The simultaneous opening across two cities reflects a multi-format strategy designed to cater to different traveller segments, including business, leisure, and spiritual tourism.

The properties in Rishikesh are positioned to serve visitors seeking proximity to religious landmarks and experiential travel offerings, while the Dehradun hotel targets both corporate and social event demand.

Dehradun property targets business and event demand

Country Inn, Dehradun is strategically located on Saharanpur Road, benefiting from improved connectivity through the Delhi–Dehradun Expressway. The hotel is designed to cater to a mix of business and leisure travellers, supported by its accessibility and urban location.

The property includes dining and banqueting facilities, enabling it to host corporate meetings, social gatherings, and events. Its positioning reflects growing demand for organised hospitality infrastructure in emerging urban centres.

Dehradun’s role as a gateway to Uttarakhand’s hill and pilgrimage destinations further enhances the hotel’s appeal across multiple travel segments.

Rishikesh expansion introduces dual-format offering

In Rishikesh, the company has adopted a dual-format approach with the launch of two distinct properties. Country Inn, Rishikesh, located in Tapovan, offers 28 rooms and is positioned close to key spiritual and tourist landmarks.

Alongside this, the group has introduced Country Inn Smart Stays, Rishikesh, a 31-room property that marks the debut of a new brand format. The Smart Stays concept is designed to appeal to younger travellers and experience-driven guests, offering rooftop facilities and recreational spaces.

This dual offering allows the brand to address both traditional pilgrimage travellers and a growing segment of younger, lifestyle-oriented visitors seeking flexible and social accommodation options.

Expansion aligns with growth strategy and new brand formats

The Uttarakhand expansion is part of the company’s broader growth roadmap, which focuses on scaling its presence across high-demand leisure and spiritual destinations. The introduction of the Smart Stays format reflects an effort to diversify its portfolio and tap into evolving traveller preferences.

According to the company, Uttarakhand remains a key focus market due to its increasing popularity among domestic travellers across leisure, spiritual, and experiential segments. The addition of multiple formats within a single destination highlights a targeted approach to capturing varied demand patterns.

The expansion also aligns with the company’s ambition to add at least 1,000 keys annually and reach a portfolio of 45 hotels by FY27. This growth strategy is supported by a combination of new developments and brand innovations aimed at improving market reach and operational scalability.

Focus on high-demand travel markets in India

The latest openings reflect a broader industry trend of increasing investment in destinations that offer year-round travel demand. Locations such as Dehradun and Rishikesh continue to attract a steady flow of visitors, driven by religious tourism, wellness travel, and short-haul leisure trips.

Hospitality operators are increasingly targeting such markets to expand beyond metro cities and tap into underserved regions with growing infrastructure and connectivity.

With the addition of three properties in Uttarakhand, Country Inn Hotels & Resorts strengthens its regional presence while advancing its multi-format expansion strategy, positioning itself to capture demand across diverse traveller segments in one of India’s key tourism states.
