MUMBAI, India – April 12, 2026 – The Directorate of Tourism, Government of Maharashtra, has announced a two-day Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Tour Circuit scheduled for April 13 and 14, 2026, spanning Mumbai, Nashik and Nagpur. The initiative, offered free of cost, aims to promote heritage tourism while highlighting the life, work and legacy of Dr B. R. Ambedkar.

The tour circuit has been designed to connect historically significant locations associated with Dr Ambedkar across three major cities. The programme is positioned as both a cultural and educational initiative, targeting citizens, students and domestic tourists, while also contributing to the state’s broader tourism development efforts.

Tour circuit spans key sites across Mumbai, Nashik and Nagpur

The circuit covers multiple landmarks linked to Dr Ambedkar’s life and contributions. In Mumbai, the itinerary includes Chaityabhoomi, Rajgruha, the Printing Press, BIT Chawl in Parel, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar College in Wadala, and Siddharth College in Fort.

In Nashik, the tour includes Muktibhoomi, Trirashmi Leni and Kalaram Temple. Meanwhile, in Nagpur, participants will visit Deekshabhoomi, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Museum in Chincholi and Dragon Palace in Kamthi.

The tours will originate from Chaityabhoomi in Mumbai, Gadkari Chowk in Nashik and Deekshabhoomi in Nagpur, ensuring accessibility across all three cities.

Free initiative includes transport, guides and facilities

The Directorate of Tourism has structured the programme to ensure ease of participation. Special buses will operate daily across the three cities, with two buses allocated per city each day. Seating will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Participants will receive complimentary transportation, guided tours, refreshments and drinking water. The initiative has been planned to provide a structured and informative experience while maintaining accessibility for a wide range of participants.

The tours will commence at 10:00 AM on both days, with coordinated operations across Mumbai, Nashik and Nagpur.

Initiative aligns with heritage and cultural tourism push

The tour circuit is part of Maharashtra’s efforts to strengthen cultural and heritage tourism by promoting historically significant locations.
