Marriott Peru luxury expansion is set to redefine Lima’s hospitality sector after Marriott International announced two major luxury hotel conversions in Peru’s capital city.

The company revealed that The Ritz-Carlton, Lima and a newly repositioned JW Marriott Hotel Lima will officially join Marriott International’s luxury portfolio in 2028. The strategic conversions strengthen Marriott’s presence in South America’s growing luxury travel market while elevating Lima’s global hospitality profile.

As part of the transformation, the current JW Marriott Hotel Lima in Miraflores will be converted into The Ritz-Carlton, Lima. Once completed, it will become the second Ritz-Carlton property in South America, reinforcing the region’s increasing importance within international luxury tourism.

The Ritz-Carlton brand is globally recognised for its luxury hospitality experiences, refined design, and personalised service standards. The Lima property will join the brand’s existing portfolio across destinations including Mexico, Costa Rica, Chile, and the Caribbean.

At the same time, the former The Westin Lima Hotel & Convention Center located in Paseo Begonias, San Isidro, will be repositioned as the new JW Marriott Hotel Lima. The conversion reflects Marriott International’s continued focus on expanding luxury hospitality experiences across key urban destinations in Latin America.

According to Marriott International, the new JW Marriott Hotel Lima will focus on wellness-driven luxury experiences while catering to corporate travellers, convention guests, and international visitors.

Walter Regidor, Regional Vice President for Central and South America at Marriott International, stated that the dual conversion project represents a major milestone for Lima’s evolving hospitality landscape. He added that travellers increasingly view Lima as a sophisticated destination known for cultural richness, culinary excellence, and modern urban experiences.

Industry experts believe the Marriott Peru luxury expansion highlights Lima’s growing appeal among global luxury travellers and hotel investors. Peru’s capital city continues attracting attention due to its gastronomy, heritage tourism, business infrastructure, and rising international connectivity.

The redevelopment of Paseo Begonias into a stronger mixed-use destination is also expected to support Lima’s business tourism sector. The area combines premium office spaces, retail, hospitality, and commercial infrastructure within a modern urban environment.

Marriott International already maintains a strong luxury portfolio in Peru through properties located in Cusco and Paracas. The addition of Ritz-Carlton Lima and the new JW Marriott Hotel Lima further strengthens the company’s position in the Peru hospitality industry.

The announcement reflects broader luxury travel trends across South America where international hotel groups continue investing in premium hospitality experiences, branded luxury stays, and culturally immersive destinations.

With both conversions scheduled for completion in 2028, Marriott International continues reinforcing Lima’s position as one of South America’s emerging luxury hospitality capitals.
