RIVIERA MAYA, May 24, 2026 - Marriott International is expanding its presence in Latin America through a new all-inclusive resort project in Riviera Maya, Mexico, developed in partnership with Grupo Satli and Aimbridge Hospitality. The property will mark Marriott Hotels & Resorts’ first all-inclusive offering in the region’s established leisure travel market.
The large-scale resort is expected to include 980 rooms along with multiple dining venues, pools, meeting facilities and wellness amenities. Marriott plans to formally integrate the property into its all-inclusive portfolio in 2027.
Marriott Riviera Maya Resort Expands Mexico Portfolio
The Riviera Maya development reflects Marriott International’s continued focus on leisure travel growth and resort expansion across Latin America. The company is using an asset-light model in which Grupo Satli funds and owns the resort while Aimbridge Hospitality oversees day-to-day operations.
The strategy allows Marriott to expand its global hotel network without directly assuming large-scale construction ownership costs. Hospitality analysts say international operators are increasingly using partnership-driven expansion models across Mexico and the Caribbean.
The property is expected to target both leisure travelers and group business segments through extensive resort infrastructure and event-focused facilities.
All-Inclusive Market Gains Importance in Latin America
The resort will include 13 food and beverage outlets, 12 swimming pools, spa facilities and meeting spaces designed for conferences and destination events. Marriott said the development supports broader demand for premium all-inclusive travel experiences in Mexico.
Competition among global hospitality companies in the all-inclusive sector has intensified in recent years as operators expand into resort-driven markets across the Caribbean and Latin America.
Industry observers note that the Riviera Maya region remains one of Mexico’s strongest tourism destinations due to its beach resorts, international air connectivity and year-round leisure demand.
Marriott Continues Asset-Light Expansion Strategy
The partnership with Grupo Satli and Aimbridge Hospitality also strengthens Marriott’s operational reach in Mexico while leveraging local development expertise.
Guests staying at the property are expected to benefit from integration with the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty platform once the resort formally joins the company’s all-inclusive portfolio.
The project aligns with Marriott’s broader expansion strategy focused on increasing resort inventory, diversifying revenue streams and strengthening its luxury and leisure travel presence globally.
Marriott International continues to expand across high-demand tourism markets while competing with other global hospitality groups increasing investments in all-inclusive travel experiences throughout Mexico and the Caribbean.
