NILE Hospitality Signs Courtyard by Marriott Somnath to Expand Gujarat Hospitality Portfolio
NILE Hospitality signs Courtyard by Marriott Somnath, expanding Gujarat’s hospitality sector with a new luxury hotel near Somnath Temple.
NILE Hospitality has announced the signing of Courtyard by Marriott Somnath, marking a significant expansion of its hospitality footprint in Gujarat’s growing religious tourism market. The upcoming Courtyard by Marriott Somnath will strengthen the region’s branded accommodation offerings while supporting the increasing demand for premium hospitality infrastructure near one of India’s most visited pilgrimage destinations.
The new hotel project will feature 120 rooms and suites along with banquet facilities and recreational amenities including a swimming pool. Strategically located close to the Somnath Temple, the property is expected to cater to both spiritual travellers and leisure tourists visiting the coastal city throughout the year.
Industry observers note that Gujarat has emerged as one of India’s fastest-growing hospitality markets, supported by infrastructure development, improved connectivity, and rising domestic tourism. Somnath, in particular, continues to attract millions of visitors annually due to its religious significance and expanding tourism ecosystem.
NILE Hospitality stated that the Courtyard by Marriott Somnath project aligns with its broader strategy of introducing globally recognised hospitality brands into emerging destinations with strong tourism potential. The company has already established operations across several locations in Gujarat, including Gir and Dwarka, and continues to strengthen its integrated hospitality network across key leisure and pilgrimage markets.
According to Vikram Singh Chauhan, Founder and CEO of NILE Hospitality, the signing represents another step toward bringing internationally benchmarked hospitality experiences to high-potential destination markets across India.
Hospitality analysts believe branded hotel developments in pilgrimage destinations are becoming increasingly important as travellers seek higher-quality accommodation, event infrastructure, and modern guest experiences alongside spiritual tourism.
The partnership also highlights Marriott International’s continued expansion across India through collaborations in emerging travel markets. Industry experts say global hospitality brands are increasingly focusing on tier-II and religious tourism destinations where demand for organised hospitality continues to rise.
The Courtyard by Marriott Somnath project is also expected to contribute to the local economy through tourism-led employment generation and supporting businesses connected to travel, food services, transport, and events.
As India’s religious tourism sector continues to grow rapidly, hospitality operators are investing heavily in premium accommodation projects near major spiritual destinations. The development of Courtyard by Marriott Somnath reflects this broader trend, where global hotel brands are targeting destinations with year-round visitor demand and expanding tourism infrastructure.
With Gujarat strengthening its position as a major tourism and pilgrimage hub, the arrival of Courtyard by Marriott Somnath is expected to enhance the region’s hospitality landscape while offering travellers internationally recognised service standards near one of India’s most iconic temples.
