Shoney's All You Can Eat Dining Comeback 2026 is gaining speed as inflation stressed consumers look for value. Chairman and CEO David Davoudpour said people want every dining dollar to count. He described value as more choice, more freshness and more hospitality. The brand says that idea has guided it from the start.

Shoney's All You Can Eat Dining Comeback 2026 Meets Value Demand

Value ranked No. 3 in the National Restaurant Association's 2026 What's Hot Culinary Forecast. U.S. consumers are feeling pressure from 3.7% inflation and wage gains of only 3% in September. Davoudpour said the headlines may be timely, but value has always been Shoney's calling card.

He said the Shoney's Fresh Food Bar is a big part of the story. The brand won Newsweek Readers' Choice as the Best Buffet Chain. NBC's Today Show reported that Yelp searches for buffets climbed 250% last year. Davoudpour said guests are rediscovering the satisfaction of getting their money's worth.

Shoney's Restaurant Franchise Takes a Long Game Approach

Most chains rely on short term discounts. Shoney's builds value into the experience instead. Davoudpour said a promotion can start overnight, but trust takes years to earn. The goal is for guests to leave feeling the food, choice and service delivered.

That promise covers dine in guests and those who order Family Meals To Go. The brand wants every visit to feel worthwhile, not just one meal or one deal.

Menu Appeal Matches 2026 Restaurant Trends

Shoney's menu reflects three more trends on the National Restaurant Association list. Comfort food ranked No. 2. The brand calls itself America's Dinner Table. Guests find steaks, sandwiches, fries, macaroni and cheese, hot fudge cake and apple pie. Breakfast brings eggs, bacon and pancakes.

Smashed burgers ranked No. 4. Shoney's has offered them from time to time, though they are not a permanent item. Salads fit the No. 8 trend of cleaner recipes with fewer additives and dyes.

Shoney's Menu Innovation and Technology

Shoney's protects its legacy while it modernizes. Davoudpour recently told franchisees how artificial intelligence could improve restaurant performance through 2030. He also showed them a blueprint for new look restaurants. The design will apply to all new and existing locations. Guests can already order online, buy gift cards on the web and join a loyalty program.

Shoney's Franchise Opportunities Are Open

Davoudpour acquired the brand in 2007. Since then he has worked to grow it with single and multi unit franchisees. The Nashville based company offers operational, marketing and training support. Shoney's now has 45 restaurants in 11 states. It is looking for qualified franchisees to help it grow.
