As the hospitality industry prepares to honour professionals who elevate organisational performance through people-first leadership, nominations for the HCP Human Resources Award 2026 – The People’s Choice for Hospitality Excellence continue to spotlight accomplished HR leaders. Among this year’s nominees is Prashita Malagar, Human Resources Manager at The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Mumbai.

With over a decade of experience in hospitality human resources, Prashita Malagar has built a distinguished career across luxury hotel brands and marquee pre-opening projects. Her professional journey spans leading names such as Marriott International, The Ritz-Carlton, The St. Regis Mumbai, Radisson Hotel Group, The Park Hotels, and Zone by The Park, where she has consistently delivered end-to-end HR excellence.

Currently serving as Human Resources Manager at The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Mumbai (Three Sixty West ), Prashita leads HR operations while reporting directly to the Director of Residences. Her role encompasses talent acquisition, payroll and statutory compliance, employee lifecycle management, performance management, disciplinary processes, HR audits, MIS reporting, insurance and medical benefits, and employee engagement initiatives. She plays a critical role in aligning HR governance with luxury residential hospitality standards.

Previously, Prashita served as Human Resources Manager at Fairfield by Marriott Goa Calangute, where she reported to the General Manager and managed comprehensive HR operations for the property. Her earlier tenure as Assistant Manager – Human Resources at Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa Nashik and The St. Regis Mumbai further strengthened her expertise in luxury hospitality HR, stakeholder management, and large workforce administration.

A seasoned pre-opening HR professional, Prashita was part of pre-opening teams at Courtyard by Marriott Bilaspur and Zone by The Park Raipur, where she helped establish HR systems, recruitment frameworks, induction processes, and training structures from the ground up. Her ability to set up compliant HR operations during pre-opening phases has been a consistent strength throughout her career.

Prashita holds a BA in International Hospitality Administration from Edinburgh Napier University, Scotland (UK), along with postgraduate qualifications in Hospitality Management from Amity University. She has also completed a Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management affiliated with Kasem Bundit University, Thailand. Her international academic exposure has equipped her with a global perspective on hospitality HR practices.

Her core competencies include end-to-end talent acquisition, payroll and statutory compliance, HRIS management, audits, employee relations, performance management, and workforce analytics. Known for her structured approach and people-centric leadership, Prashita has successfully balanced compliance rigour with employee engagement across diverse hospitality environments.
