Monika Gupta, Cluster Director of Talent & Culture at Grand Mercure and ibis Styles Mysore, is nominated for the HCP Human Resources Award 2026.
As the hospitality industry prepares to celebrate leaders who drive excellence through people, nominations for the HCP Human Resources Award 2026 – The People’s Choice for Hospitality Excellence continue to spotlight accomplished HR professionals. Among this year’s nominees is Monika Gupta, Cluster Director of Talent and Culture at Grand Mercure Mysore and ibis Styles Mysore, whose career reflects sustained impact in people leadership across hospitality.
With over a decade of experience in the hospitality sector, Monika Gupta has established herself as a strategic HR leader recognised for talent acquisition excellence, employee engagement, and building people-first cultures aligned with business objectives. Her career spans leading hospitality brands including Accor, Radisson Blu, ITC Fortune Hotels, Cambay Hotels, and Royal Orchid, where she has played key roles in both pre-opening and operational environments.
Currently spearheading Talent and Culture operations at Grand Mercure Mysore and ibis Styles Mysore, Monika oversees end-to-end HR functions across both properties. Her responsibilities include recruitment, onboarding, training, payroll, statutory compliance, and HR budgeting. A strong advocate of Accor’s HEARTIST philosophy, she has consistently fostered inclusive and supportive work environments while ensuring governance and operational efficiency. She also serves as the ALL Safe Officer, managing post-COVID health and safety protocols for employees and guests.
Previously, as Associate Director of Talent and Culture at Grand Mercure Gandhinagar GIFT City, Monika was a core member of the hotel’s pre-opening team. She was instrumental in implementing Accor HR policies, recruiting leadership talent, and establishing structured HR systems. Her promotion to Associate Director in 2023 reflected her contributions to strategic workforce planning, succession management, and continuous feedback mechanisms.
Earlier in her career, Monika led HR operations at Radisson Blu Gorakhpur, where she built HR infrastructure from the ground up, and at ITC Fortune Inn Haveli, Gandhinagar, where she supported pre-opening HR operations and long-term workforce development. Her corporate HR experience with Cambay Hotels further strengthened her expertise in multi-property HR governance and policy standardisation.
Monika’s professional excellence has been recognised through several industry and brand-level awards, including Best HR Manager for the Quarter at Cambay Spa & Resorts, Best Employee Retention Award from Accor India, and multiple Department of the Year awards. She was also honoured at the Accor Talent & Culture Meet 2022 for People Practices and Best Employee Retention, along with multiple Accor professional certifications.
