Headline Andhra Bhavan opens South Indian restaurant in Cork this autumn

CORK, June 22, 2026 — Andhra Bhavan South Indian restaurant plans to open its first Cork location this autumn at the redeveloped Finn’s Corner on Grand Parade, bringing Andhra cuisine to the city in September.

The owners, Praveen Madire and Sainath Reddy, who operate Andhra Bhavan restaurants in Dublin and Belfast, said the new Cork City restaurant will seat about sixty-five diners across the ground and first floors and begin recruiting staff this summer for front-of-house and kitchen roles.

The opening at Finn’s Corner marks the chain’s fifth restaurant in Ireland, part of a broader expansion to introduce authentic South Indian and Andhra dishes to new communities. Andhra Bhavan has already established locations in Dublin and one in Belfast with menus featuring traditional South Indian fare and regional Andhra specialties.

The arrival of Andhra Bhavan introduces another dining option in Cork’s evolving international food scene. The site at Finn’s Corner, a prominent junction of Grand Parade and Washington Street, was redeveloped after the closure of the long-running sports store once run by the Finn family.

Restaurant leaders said the Cork opening reflects growing interest in South Indian dishes, including dosas, curries and distinctive Andhra cuisine, among locals and visitors.

Andhra Bhavan was founded by friends from Hyderabad and has steadily expanded in Ireland with positive reception for its South Indian menu. The restaurant group said it also plans additional openings, including an international branch outside of Ireland later this year.

Recruitment for the Cork location is expected to begin in July ahead of the autumn launch, with details on job listings and hours to be announced by the restaurant.
