KOLKATA, June 18, 2026 — A new Pan-Asian restaurant in Salt Lake is serving Asian food from fourteen countries under one roof, giving diners a broad taste of continental cuisine across Asia.

The restaurant, named Soy Joy, opened this month in Sector-II, Salt Lake, and has quickly drawn attention for its menu spanning dishes from nations including Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand and Indonesia. Co-owner Mridula Das Mazumder told reporters the goal was to give Kolkata diners an accessible introduction to Asian cuisines that may be rare in the city, blending comfort and flavour across national dishes.

The menu features both familiar and lesser-seen Asian food. Lotus leaf fried rice infused with sesame and Shaoxing wine reflects Cantonese traditions, while Korean-style dak galbi skewers and grilled chicken teriyaki ramen offer bolder profiles. The Indonesian otak-otak dish, wrapped in banana leaves with lemongrass and chilli oil, stands out as a unique inclusion. 

Other offerings include handcrafted dim sums, sushi selections and comfort-style broth noodles. Reviewers have noted the varied range and quality of dishes, praising the breadth of Asian flavour profiles available in one location.
