DERBY, Kan., June 11, 2026 — Chicken Salad Chick, the fast casual chain that holds the distinction of being the only restaurant concept in the United States dedicated exclusively to chicken salad, will open its third Kansas location at 2600 N. Rock Road in Derby on Tuesday, June 30. The new restaurant comes with a drive-thru and a five-day grand opening week of giveaways, led by a free chicken salad for a year offer for the first 100 guests through the door on opening day.
The Derby opening is the latest step in an accelerating Kansas expansion for the brand. Franchise owner Troy Morrison, CEO of Meauxmentum Strategies and Investments, LLC, also operates the Wichita-Maize location that opened in December 2025. He holds development rights for 11 further locations in the greater Austin, Texas area, with additional restaurants planned for Leander and Carrollton in the Dallas-Fort Worth market this autumn, pending construction.
Free Chicken Salad for a Year Headines a Five-Day Opening Week
The grand opening promotion on June 30 rewards the first guest in line at 10 a.m. with one free large Quick Chick of chicken salad per week for an entire year. The next 99 guests in line each receive one free large Quick Chick per month for 12 months. To claim the reward, guests must remain in line, download the Chicken Salad Chick app, and make a qualifying purchase once the restaurant opens. Guests who leave the line forfeit their spot.
The opening week continues through Independence Day weekend with daily giveaways for the first 50 guests to purchase a meal with two sides: a 40-oz Chick Tumbler with lid and straw on July 1, a Chick Red Burlap Tote Bag on July 2, a Chick Small Teal Cooler on July 3 and a Chick Meal Card on July 4. All promotions require guests to be 16 or older and are limited to one reward per guest, in-restaurant only.

Morrison, who runs more than 100 Taco Bell and Wingstop locations across the country alongside his 26 Chicken Salad Chick restaurants, represents the brand's core franchise profile — experienced multi-brand operators capable of executing fast-paced openings.
The brand's menu spans more than a dozen made-from-scratch chicken salad flavours alongside fresh sides, gourmet soups, signature sandwiches and desserts. The Derby restaurant will offer dine-in, drive-thru, takeout, third-party delivery and catering from its opening day. Operating hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
