BENGALURU, July 2, 2026 — Global chicken dining brand Genesis BBQ launches in India with two outlets in Bengaluru’s HSR Layout and Koramangala, marking its entry into the country’s growing chicken market.

Genesis BBQ opens its first Indian stores on June 26, introducing halal-certified chicken and localised menu options to meet diverse consumer tastes in southern India’s IT hub, the company said Thursday.

The new Bengaluru outlets operate as quick-service restaurants targeting young professionals, families and food lovers in one of India’s busiest urban centres. The HSR Layout branch features about ninety seats while the Koramangala location offers around sixty, according to company details.

Genesis BBQ’s India menu includes a range of signature chicken flavours such as soy garlic, honey garlic and hot and spicy variants, along with vegetarian selections like cauliflower and burgers. The company chose halal certification for all chicken to align with local food preferences.

Growth strategy and local adaptation

Genesis BBQ signed a master franchise agreement with a local partner to build its presence in India, with plans to expand beyond Bengaluru to other major cities such as Hyderabad, Chennai and Vellore.

“India is one of the key global markets with strong growth potential,” a Genesis BBQ spokesperson said in a release, emphasising the brand’s focus on integrating local culture into its operations.

The brand’s India debut reflects broader interest in Korean-style fried chicken and quick-service dining as urban consumers increasingly explore global cuisine options. Industry observers note that tailored menu offerings and strategic location choices are central to international brands entering competitive food markets like India.

Genesis BBQ’s first step into India underscores its global expansion strategy as it introduces K-chicken and complementary dishes to a new and diverse audience.
