The eatery opened this week at a central Telford High Street location previously occupied by another restaurant group. Himalayan Spice’s owners said the launch introduces fresh South Asian culinary options for local diners and visitors alike.

Himalayan Spice’s menu features a range of Indian curries, tandoori selections and Nepalese specialities developed by chef-owners with roots in both culinary traditions. The restaurant has seating for dine-in guests along with takeaway and delivery options.

“We chose Telford for its vibrant community and location close to both town centre shops and local neighbourhoods,” said owner Sunil Gurung, whose team has worked in UK hospitality for more than ten years.

Local business leaders welcomed the opening as another boost to Telford’s dining offerings, which already include well-established Indian cuisines such as Chasni and Zulaikas. The new restaurant adds to the variety for curry lovers across Shropshire.

Why the opening matters

Restaurant openings in the area are seen as key to supporting footfall in the town centre and providing more choice for consumers amid wider economic pressures faced by independent hospitality businesses in 2026.

The owners confirmed Himalayan Spice will host a soft opening week of discounts and community tastings through late June following this month’s launch.
