Three Singapore F&B Outlets to Shut by April End, Including Koggii and Alchemy Bistro
Koggii BBQ, Shake Coffee and Alchemy Bistro will close in Singapore by April 2026, citing lease and operational changes impacting local F&B outlets.
Three food and beverage outlets in Singapore—Koggii BBQ, Shake Coffee and Alchemy Bistro—are set to cease operations by the end of April 2026, marking a series of closures across different segments of the city-state’s dining sector. The shutdowns, confirmed by the respective businesses, reflect operational changes including lease-related challenges and strategic shifts.
The closures will take place within days of each other, with Koggii scheduled to close on April 26, Shake Coffee on April 30, and Alchemy Bistro expected to vacate its premises by the end of the month following landlord notice. Each outlet represents a distinct category within Singapore’s F&B landscape, from buffet dining to specialty coffee and craft beer retail.
Koggii BBQ to End Operations After Over One Year
Koggii, a Korean buffet-style barbecue restaurant located at Suntec City, will conclude its operations on April 26, 2026. The restaurant first opened in November 2024 and operated for just over a year.
In a statement shared via social media, the business confirmed the closure but did not disclose specific reasons. It indicated that the decision is part of a transition, stating that it is “making space for what’s next.”
During its final weeks, Koggii is offering a promotional all-you-can-eat buffet priced at SGD19.95 (approximately US$15.68). The offering includes seven types of meat along with unlimited servings of side dishes. The restaurant was known for combining Korean barbecue with a caifan-style buffet format, allowing customers to select from a range of traditional Korean dishes in an unlimited dining setup.
The closure comes relatively soon after its launch, highlighting the competitive and fast-evolving nature of Singapore’s casual dining segment.
Shake Coffee Exits Physical Location, Moves Online
Shake Coffee, a local specialty coffee brand, will cease operations at its Prinsep Street outlet on April 30, 2026. The company stated that the decision followed discussions with its landlord, resulting in the loss of its physical premises.
Rather than closing entirely, the business will transition to an online-only model for the foreseeable future. The company noted that it currently does not have a replacement location secured.
Founded by Ong Shi Chun, who won the Singapore Coffee in Good Spirits Championship in 2019, Shake Coffee has built its presence through in-store service as well as collaborations and events within the local coffee community.
As part of its exit from the physical space, the brand plans to conduct a garage sale to liquidate equipment, with further updates to be shared through its digital platforms. The move reflects a shift in operating strategy rather than a complete shutdown of the brand.
Alchemy Bistro Faces Closure After 16 Years
Alchemy Bistro, one of Singapore’s longstanding craft beer establishments, will also close by the end of April after receiving notice to vacate its premises. The outlet had been preparing to celebrate its 16th anniversary in May before the development.
Owner Isaiah Tan stated that the notice from the landlord was issued on short notice, leaving the business without an immediate alternative location. The closure marks the end of operations for a venue that has been active since 2010.
Alchemy Bistro has built its reputation on a curated selection of craft beers, alongside wines, whiskies and cocktails. Over the years, it has been recognised as one of the earlier entrants in Singapore’s craft beer scene.
In its final days, the establishment is encouraging customers to visit and help clear remaining inventory. A closing event described as a “last hurrah” is planned for April 24 and 25. Despite the closure, the business indicated it remains open to the possibility of securing a new space if available.
Closures Reflect Lease Pressures and Market Conditions
The simultaneous closure of these outlets underscores ongoing challenges within Singapore’s foodservice sector, particularly in relation to tenancy arrangements and operating costs. Two of the three closures—Shake Coffee and Alchemy Bistro—are directly linked to landlord-related issues, including lease termination and lack of alternative premises.
Meanwhile, Koggii’s closure, though not explicitly attributed to a specific factor, comes after a relatively short operating period, suggesting the pressures faced by newer entrants in a competitive dining environment.
The affected businesses span different categories—buffet dining, specialty coffee and craft beverage retail—indicating that the impact of operational constraints is not limited to a single segment of the market.
While Shake Coffee will continue in an online format, both Koggii and Alchemy Bistro are set to fully cease their current operations by the end of April unless new developments emerge. The closures add to a broader pattern of turnover within Singapore’s F&B sector, where openings and exits continue to reshape the market landscape.
