Wonder food hall to open on Worcester's Park Ave. in August

WORCESTER, Mass., June 15, 2026 — Wonder, a fast-growing food hall concept that combines multiple restaurant brands under one ordering platform, plans to open in August at 14 Park Ave. in Worcester. The company will take over the former Boston Market building, which has sat vacant since the chain location closed last year.
The Worcester License Commission unanimously approved a common victualer license for the business on June 11, clearing one of the final steps before opening. The site would be Wonder's first location in Worcester County and the latest sign of how takeout and delivery are reshaping the restaurant industry.
How the Wonder food hall works
Rather than running as a single-menu restaurant, Wonder lets customers order from multiple restaurant concepts in one transaction. Daniel Brennan, representing Wonder, told commissioners the company operates more than 100 locations nationwide, including 11 in Massachusetts.
"Wonder is a food hall concept, making where to order from an easy choice," Brennan said. He said the platform carries 15 to 20 restaurant menus spanning cuisines that include steak, fried chicken, pizza, burgers, Italian, Mexican and barbecue.
From Boston Market to dozens of menus
The Park Avenue building housed one of the last remaining Boston Market restaurants in Massachusetts, a fixture on the busy corridor for more than two decades. That location closed in late 2025 after years of legal and financial disputes involving the franchise operation.
Wonder has built its brand around partnerships with well-known chefs, and Brennan said customers can order dishes inspired by chefs including Bobby Flay and Marcus Samuelsson through the same platform.
A takeout-focused layout
The Worcester site is geared mainly toward takeout and delivery, with a small dining area of 21 seats. The building covers less than 3,500 square feet, with much of the space devoted to kitchen operations.
Construction is underway and Wonder signage is already up. The company hopes to open in August, with proposed hours of 10 a.m. to midnight seven days a week, according to documents filed with the City of Worcester.
