MUSCAT — Al Husn Hotel Muscat has appointed Eugène de Rooze as Hotel Manager, bringing over two decades of luxury hospitality leadership across the Middle East, Europe, Africa, the Caribbean, Mexico and the United States to the clifftop Omani retreat within the Hilton Muscat, Barr Al Jissah Resorts destination.

De Rooze steps into the Hotel Manager role at Al Husn Hotel Muscat, the 180-room adult-only clifftop retreat set high above the Gulf of Oman. The property forms part of Hilton Muscat, Barr Al Jissah Resorts, alongside DoubleTree by Hilton Muscat Al Waha and Hilton Muscat Al Bandar. He oversees day-to-day operations across the hotel, working closely with the wider resort leadership team to develop the guest journey across accommodation, dining, wellness and bespoke experiences.
The appointment comes at a significant moment for the property. Al Husn Hotel Muscat is undergoing renovation ahead of its planned rebranding as Waldorf Astoria Muscat Al Husn, which will mark the iconic brand's debut in the Omani capital.
Twenty Years Across Kempinski, Waldorf Astoria, Ritz-Carlton, Hyatt and Fairmont
A Dutch national, Eugène de Rooze has spent over 20 years in senior roles across some of the world's most recognised luxury hotel brands. His career covers Kempinski, Waldorf Astoria, The Ritz-Carlton, Hyatt and Fairmont — a breadth of brand experience that spans both landmark resorts and complex city hotels across six regions.
Most recently, he served as Hotel Manager at Kempinski Palace Cairo, where he led key operational divisions including rooms, food and beverage, culinary, security, spa, recreation, training and quality. Before Cairo, he was Director of Operations at Waldorf Astoria Kuwait, where he played a central role in the hotel's pre-opening and contributed to Forbes Five-Star recognition for both the hotel and spa within its first year of operation.
That pre-opening track record at Waldorf Astoria Kuwait is directly relevant at Al Husn, which is preparing for its own brand transition and renovation journey.
