Kristen Hammac Brings 27 Years of Hotel Leadership to Renaissance Chicago
Most recently, Hammac served as Market Vice President for Marriott Select Brands, overseeing properties across six states. Before that she held the position of Senior Regional Director of Operations and Owner Services for Marriott Select Brands in the Southeast region.
Her general manager experience includes the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld and the Marriott Stanton South Beach in Miami, two high-volume destination properties with distinct operational demands.
Sales and Commercial Background Spans Marriott and Hilton
Earlier in her career, Kristen Hammac worked as Area Sales Leader for Marriott International and as Director of Sales and Marketing at the JW Marriott in the Washington DC-Baltimore area. She also held Director of Sales and Marketing roles for Renaissance Hotels in the DC metro area and led large group sales at Marriott's Mid-Atlantic Sales Office.
Before joining Marriott, she spent several years with Hilton Worldwide in the Washington DC market, serving as Director of Sales at Hilton McLean Tysons Corner, Director of Association Sales for Hiltons of Washington DC and Director of Sales at Hilton. She started her career in rooms operations, building ground-level property knowledge before moving into sales and general management tracks.
Academic Background and Chicago Market Role
Hammac holds academic credentials from the University of Saskatchewan. Her education gave her early exposure to both Canadian and US commercial environments, which carried through into her subsequent career across major American hotel markets.
At the Renaissance Chicago Downtown, she takes over a property competing in one of the busiest convention and corporate travel markets in the United States. Her multi-state oversight background and prior general manager experience at large hotels make her a direct fit for the scale of the role.
