NORTH BETHESDA, Maryland — Choice Hotels International has named Tony Pallas as chief technology officer, putting an 11-year company veteran in charge of enterprise technology, engineering and SkyTouch Technology, the company's hotel operations and property management platform.
Pallas reports directly to Anna Scozzafava, chief data, AI and technology officer at Choice Hotels.
Tony Pallas Takes Charge of Choice Hotels Technology and SkyTouch Platform
Pallas previously served as chief commercial and technology officer for Choice's hotel property management system business. During that period, he grew annual revenues by 68 percent and EBITDA by nearly 100 percent, according to the company.
He also served as executive sponsor and chief architect for CHARLIE, an AI-powered tool Choice launched last month as part of a broader push into artificial intelligence across its operations.
AWS Partnership and AI Push Shape His Mandate
The appointment follows Choice Hotels' partnership with AWS in April on an enterprise-wide AI deployment covering both guest experience and franchisee operations. Pallas will continue supporting the rollout and adoption of the company's recently launched AI tools in his new role.
"Tony is a proven leader with deep technology and hospitality experience," Scozzafava said. "He has consistently demonstrated the ability to build high-performing teams, create cutting-edge technology platforms, and keep customer needs at the center of every decision."
Appointment Comes as Choice Hotels Navigates Leadership Shift
The CTO naming comes as Choice Hotels CEO Patrick Pacious prepares to step down this summer. The company has not announced a replacement for Pacious as of this report.
Rival Hilton announced last month it had begun an external search for a newly created chief technology officer role of its own.
