Charumathi Arumugam, Assistant Manager – Human Resources at DoubleTree by Hilton Bengaluru Whitefield, is nominated for the HCP HR Award 2026.
As the hospitality industry continues to recognise professionals who strengthen organisations through people-focused leadership, nominations for the HCP Human Resources Award 2026 – The People’s Choice for Hospitality Excellence have highlighted several emerging HR leaders. Among this year’s nominees is Charumathi Arumugam, Assistant Manager – Human Resources at DoubleTree by Hilton Bengaluru Whitefield.
A dedicated hospitality HR professional, Charumathi Arumugam brings hands-on experience across recruitment, payroll, attendance management, statutory compliance, employee relations, and engagement initiatives. Her career reflects strong exposure to both pre-opening and operational hotel environments, where she has played a key role in building structured HR processes and supporting leadership teams.
Currently serving as Assistant Manager – Human Resources at DoubleTree by Hilton Bengaluru Whitefield, Charumathi handles end-to-end HR operations, including recruitment coordination, payroll and attendance closure, statutory documentation, audit readiness, and grievance handling. She works closely with department heads and senior leadership to ensure compliance, workforce efficiency, and positive employee experiences in a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality environment.
During the pre-opening and post-opening phases of DoubleTree by Hilton Bengaluru Whitefield, Charumathi was instrumental in setting up HR frameworks, recruitment workflows, onboarding systems, and employee engagement initiatives. Her contribution helped establish smooth HR operations and a structured workplace culture from the early stages of the hotel’s journey.
Her professional journey also includes experience as an HR Intern at Taj West End, Bengaluru, where she supported recruitment across departments, coordinated with manpower vendors, and assisted with onboarding and HR documentation. These early exposures strengthened her operational understanding of luxury hospitality HR standards.
Charumathi holds a Master of Business Administration in Human Resources & Marketing and a Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology. Her technical proficiency includes HR systems such as Onex, Taleo, TMX, HRIS platforms, Power BI, and the Microsoft Office Suite, enabling her to support data-driven HR reporting and process efficiency.
In addition to core HR operations, she actively contributes to employee engagement and experience initiatives and supports corporate DEI recruitment efforts as an Abilities Champion for South India. She also functions as a unit-level SPOC for corporate HR initiatives, ensuring effective rollout, communication, and compliance with organisational guidelines.
