Club Mahindra Adds 159 Keys with New Resorts in Maharashtra and MP
Mahindra Holidays adds 159 keys with new Club Mahindra resorts in Amba Ghat and Bandhavgarh, advancing its target of 12,000 keys by FY30.
Mumbai, April 2026: Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Limited (MHRIL) has expanded its leisure hospitality portfolio with the launch of two new Club Mahindra resorts in Amba Ghat, Maharashtra, and Bandhavgarh, Madhya Pradesh, adding a combined 159 keys. The move supports the company’s long-term goal of scaling its inventory to 12,000 keys by FY30.
The addition includes a 96-key resort at Amba Ghat and a 63-key property in Bandhavgarh, strengthening the company’s presence across Western and Central India. The development reflects MHRIL’s continued focus on emerging leisure destinations, particularly those driven by nature-based and experiential travel demand.
159 Keys Added Across Two Nature-Led Destinations
The newly launched Club Mahindra Amba Ghat resort comprises 96 keys, featuring river-facing apartments designed to align with the region’s natural landscape. The property is positioned to cater to leisure travellers seeking scenic and tranquil environments within Maharashtra.
In Madhya Pradesh, the 63-key Club Mahindra Bandhavgarh resort offers forest-facing layouts, capitalising on its proximity to a prominent wildlife tourism destination. The location is expected to attract visitors interested in nature, wildlife, and outdoor experiences.
Together, the two resorts contribute 159 keys to the company’s growing portfolio, enhancing its inventory in destinations that are witnessing rising tourist interest.
Expansion Aligned with 12,000-Key Target by FY30
The latest additions form part of MHRIL’s broader expansion strategy aimed at reaching 12,000 keys by the end of FY30. The company is pursuing this growth through a combination of greenfield developments and management contracts under an asset-light model.
This approach allows the company to scale efficiently while maintaining operational flexibility and managing capital deployment. The strategy also reflects a shift within the hospitality sector towards partnerships and management-led growth rather than fully owned assets.
The expansion pipeline is expected to include similar developments in emerging leisure markets, where demand continues to grow but branded accommodation supply remains relatively limited.
Focus on Experiential and Nature-Based Travel Demand
The choice of Amba Ghat and Bandhavgarh highlights MHRIL’s focus on destinations that offer immersive and nature-led travel experiences. Both locations align with changing consumer preferences, where travellers are increasingly seeking destinations beyond traditional urban or mass tourism hubs.
Amba Ghat, known for its scenic terrain, and Bandhavgarh, recognised for its wildlife tourism appeal, represent destinations where experiential travel plays a central role. The development of resorts in such areas reflects a broader industry trend toward diversifying offerings across lesser-explored regions.
Demand for such destinations has been supported by evolving travel behaviour, including increased interest in outdoor activities, wellness, and nature-centric holidays.
Strengthening Presence in Western and Central India
The two new resorts enhance MHRIL’s footprint in Western and Central India, regions that have seen growing domestic tourism activity. The expansion follows recent developments by the company in states such as Uttarakhand and Maharashtra, indicating a continued focus on geographically diverse growth.
By increasing its presence in multiple regions, the company aims to cater to a wider base of domestic travellers while reducing dependence on any single market. This diversification is particularly relevant in the leisure hospitality segment, where seasonal demand patterns can vary significantly across locations.
The addition of properties in both Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh also improves network coverage, enabling members and guests to access a broader range of destinations within the Club Mahindra ecosystem.
Portfolio Growth Driven by Changing Travel Preferences
The expansion reflects a shift in India’s leisure travel landscape, where families and individual travellers are exploring destinations that offer a mix of relaxation, nature, and unique experiences. Hospitality operators are increasingly aligning their development strategies with these evolving preferences.
MHRIL’s focus on building inventory in emerging locations is aimed at capturing this demand while strengthening its position in the vacation ownership and leisure hospitality segment. The company continues to prioritise the development of properties that offer differentiated experiences aligned with local surroundings.
With the addition of the Amba Ghat and Bandhavgarh resorts, MHRIL has taken another step toward expanding its national footprint, while reinforcing its strategy of targeting experiential travel destinations as a key growth driver.
