NEW DELHI, June 1, 2026: The India Convention Promotion Bureau (ICPB), supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, has announced the 15th Convention India Conclave (CIC) 2026, scheduled to run from August 19 to 21, 2026, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The three-day event will be jointly hosted by the India Trade Promotion Organisation and Delhi Tourism, and will bring together 350 to 400 delegates, including domestic and international buyers, alongside 75 to 100 exhibitors from across the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions ecosystem.

The 15th edition of the conclave carries a milestone weight for ICPB, which has run CIC as its flagship industry engagement platform for more than a decade. That the event returns to Bharat Mandapam, one of India's most visible and technically capable convention facilities, which opened in 2023 and hosted the G20 Summit, is itself a statement about how India's MICE infrastructure has evolved and how seriously the government takes the MICE sector as a driver of economic activity and destination positioning.

The conclave will be held under the theme "Powering the Future of Innovation" and will concentrate on four pillars of the MICE industry where Indian operators, planners and venue owners see the most significant growth opportunity and the most pressing structural questions: incentive travel, exhibitions, association conferences and corporate meetings. Each segment is at a different stage of its own recovery and growth cycle, and the agenda's coverage of all four reflects the breadth of the CIC's intended audience.

Incentive travel, in particular, has been shifting structurally as corporate India increasingly uses travel experiences, both domestic and international, as a performance management and talent retention tool rather than simply a reward mechanism. Understanding what the next generation of incentive travel programmes needs to deliver, and how Indian destinations can compete for that business against established Southeast Asian and European alternatives, is a live commercial question for both travel companies and the hospitality operators who host the programmes.

Technology Innovation, Incentive Travel Expectations and Exhibition-Conference Dynamics on the Agenda

Three specific topic areas have been confirmed for the conclave's panel discussions and industry sessions. Technology innovation in the meetings industry covers how artificial intelligence, event management platforms, hybrid meeting infrastructure and data analytics are reshaping how events are planned, delivered and measured, a conversation that is happening across every tier of the MICE market from small corporate offsites to large international congresses.

The second topic, changing expectations of corporate incentive travel, sits at the intersection of human resources strategy, sustainability commitments and the growing demand from younger professional cohorts for experiences that feel genuine rather than formulaic. What counts as a meaningful incentive in 2026 is genuinely different from what worked in 2015, and operators and planners who have not updated their product offerings are losing business to those who have.

The third topic, the relationship between the exhibition and conference sectors, addresses a structural dynamic that has been shifting since the pandemic accelerated hybrid formats and reduced the automatic assumption that exhibitions and conferences are always better in person. How the two formats co-exist, complement and compete with each other in a world where digital participation is genuinely viable is a question that affects venue operators, organisers and corporate buyers simultaneously.

Pre-Scheduled B2B Meetings and International Keynote Speakers at the Core of the Format

The format of CIC 2026 combines an exhibition floor with pre-scheduled B2B meetings, the hosted buyer model that has made MICE industry conclaves commercially effective rather than merely informative. Pre-scheduled meetings ensure that exhibitors and buyers spend their time in conversations with qualified counterparts rather than waiting for foot traffic, and they give both sides a measurable return on their attendance investment before the event even begins.

International keynote speakers are confirmed as part of the programme, adding external perspective to what could otherwise become a purely domestic conversation about India's MICE sector. Global best practice from more mature convention markets, Singapore, Dubai, Frankfurt, London, Chicago, is directly relevant to where India is trying to position itself, and having those perspectives on the CIC stage gives attendees benchmarks to measure their own progress against.

India's Push to Become a Preferred Global Convention Destination

The conclave lands at a moment when India's MICE ambitions are more visible and more backed by infrastructure than they have been at any previous point. Bharat Mandapam demonstrated during the G20 Summit that India can execute large-scale international events with the logistical competence and hospitality quality that international delegations expect. The Yashobhoomi convention centre in Dwarka, also in Delhi, has added further large-format capacity to the capital. MICE infrastructure is being built in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Chennai alongside the Delhi additions.

ICPB's role as India's principal convention promotion body means CIC is both an industry platform and a promotional exercise, it is the event at which India demonstrates to international buyers what hosting a conference in India actually looks and feels like. The choice of Bharat Mandapam as the venue for the 15th edition is the right call for exactly that reason. A buyer who experiences the facility firsthand at CIC has the direct reference point that no brochure or virtual tour can fully substitute for when they are deciding where to place their next conference.

For India's hotels, destination management companies, professional conference organisers, exhibition contractors and venue operators, CIC 2026 is the most directly relevant industry calendar event of the August quarter, and the pre-scheduled B2B meeting structure means the commercial value of attending extends well beyond the panel discussions and keynote sessions into deals that can be put on the table while the event is still running.
