Goa expands PNG rollout to hotels to improve energy reliability across tourism sector

The Goa government is accelerating the rollout of piped natural gas (PNG) connections across hotels and tourism establishments in 2026 to improve energy reliability, reduce dependence on conventional fuels and support uninterrupted operations in the state’s hospitality sector, officials said.

The initiative is being implemented in key tourism zones across Goa, where hotels, resorts and restaurants are being connected to PNG infrastructure. Authorities said the move is aimed at ensuring a stable energy supply amid rising demand from domestic and international visitors.

PNG rollout across tourism hubs

Officials confirmed that the expansion of PNG networks is underway in major hospitality clusters, including coastal and urban tourism areas. The rollout is being carried out in coordination with energy providers and local authorities to ensure timely connections.
