Hilton Garden Inn Signs Its First Hyderabad Hotel in Kompally
Hilton Garden Inn Hyderabad Kompally signed in 2026, bringing a 96-room focused-service hotel to the city for the first time. Opening expected in 2028.
HYDERABAD, May 20, 2026: Hilton has signed its first Hilton Garden Inn in Hyderabad, inking a deal for a 96-room focused-service property in Kompally that is expected to open in 2028. The hotel will be developed by Fairmount and Friends LLP, part of the Fairmount Group, and will become Hilton's third operating property in the city once it opens.
The signing matters for reasons beyond the room count. Hyderabad already has two Hilton properties in the pipeline, the recently opened Hilton Hyderabad Genome Valley Resort & Spa and the upcoming Hilton Hyderabad Gachibowli. This one is different. It marks the first time Hilton brings a focused-service brand into the city, a segment that travels lighter on price and heavier on practicality, and one that Hilton is betting will carry significant weight as India's business travel market keeps expanding.
Where Hilton Garden Inn Hyderabad Kompally fits
Kompally sits in the northern corridor of Hyderabad, a stretch that has been drawing commercial and residential investment for several years. The hotel will sit within a mixed-use development that includes Grade A office space and retail, with access to key business districts via the Outer Ring Road.
That location is not accidental. Focused-service hotels work best when they sit close to where people actually need to be, convention centers, office parks, airport corridors. Kompally, with its Outer Ring Road connectivity and growing commercial footprint, fits that logic well.
The property will offer 96 guest rooms, an all-day dining restaurant with a bar, and more than 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space. For a focused-service format, that events footprint is sizeable, it signals that the hotel is going after corporate group business, not just transient room nights.
What Hilton's leadership said about Hyderabad and India
Clarence Tan, Senior Vice President, Development, Asia Pacific, Hilton, put the signing in the context of a much larger India ambition.
"As Hilton continues to expand across India, our focused service brands like Hilton Garden Inn play a critical role in scaling our portfolio across the country, where we're on track to grow from 40 trading hotels today to over 400 in the years to come. This signing reflects our focus on building a balanced portfolio across key gateway and emerging business destinations in the market with a product that is designed to effectively meet the demands of both business and leisure travelers."
— Clarence Tan, Senior Vice President, Development, Asia Pacific, Hilton
The 40-to-400 target is worth pausing on. It represents a tenfold expansion and frames the Kompally signing not as a standalone move but as one piece of a long-term structural build-out across Indian cities.
Zubin Saxena, Senior Vice President and Regional Head, South Asia, Hilton, described Hyderabad's continued pull for the brand.
"Hyderabad continues to evolve as one of India's most important business and innovation hubs, and for Hilton, it remains a key strategic growth market in South Asia. This signing is particularly significant as it marks our first focused service hotel in the city, further strengthening our presence across Hyderabad's growing commercial corridors. As the market continues to evolve, we see significant opportunity to serve a wider mix of business and leisure travelers through a more diversified portfolio."

The developer's read on Kompally
Shahazim Hameed, Founder and CEO, Fairmount Builders, said the decision to partner with Hilton on this project came from watching Kompally's commercial momentum build over time.
"Kompally is witnessing strong growth across commercial and residential developments, and we believe the market is ready for a globally recognized brand that can cater to the area's rising hospitality demand, and Hilton Garden Inn is well-positioned to meet that need. Partnering with Hilton to bring Hilton Garden Inn to this market, combined with our market understanding, puts us in a strong position to serve the demand and contribute to the area's evolving landscape."

Hilton's broader India push in 2026
Hilton has been actively signing properties across India this year. The Hyderabad Kompally deal follows a period of sustained development activity in which the brand has targeted both established gateway cities and emerging business corridors.
India recorded USD 567 million in hotel investments in 2025, up 67 percent year-on-year, according to industry data, and the momentum has carried into 2026. For global chains like Hilton, that investment climate makes now a practical moment to lock in signings ahead of what promises to be a competitive race for quality sites in tier-one and tier-two cities.
The Hilton Garden Inn format, reliable rooms, practical meeting space, and a known brand name for corporate travel bookers, tends to perform well in markets at exactly the stage of development Kompally is in. It is not the first brand a market sees, but it is often the one that consolidates a corridor once commercial activity reaches a certain density.
