IHG Signs InterContinental Resort Jaipur 225-Key Property
InterContinental Resort Jaipur signs a 225-key luxury property under IHG Hotels & Resorts, with the new resort targeted to open in 2030.
JAIPUR, May 20, 2026: IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Makson India Hospitality Pvt Ltd to develop InterContinental Resort Jaipur Achrol, a 225-key luxury property on a 16-acre site along the Delhi–Jaipur Road in Achrol, with an opening target of early 2030.
The signing adds to IHG's growing India pipeline and gives the global operator its fourth hotel inside Jaipur city limits. It will also become the second property in the market to carry the InterContinental brand, which positions itself at the premium end of IHG's portfolio.
What the resort will offer
The 225-key property will comprise 189 guest rooms and 36 villas spread across its 16-acre footprint. Four dining venues, a ballroom, a spa, a fitness centre and wider recreational facilities are planned, targeting both leisure travellers and the destination wedding segment, a market that has driven consistent occupancy growth for large-format resorts on Jaipur's periphery.
The Achrol location, on the national highway corridor connecting Delhi and Jaipur, positions the resort to draw weekend traffic from the capital while also serving corporate and social event groups travelling into Rajasthan.
IHG's case for expanding in Jaipur
Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said India's luxury hospitality segment continues to offer growth opportunities driven by increasing demand for leisure travel and large-format destination events. "We are delighted to partner with Makson India Hospitality Pvt. Ltd. to launch InterContinental Resort Jaipur Achrol," Jain said. "India continues to present significant opportunities in the luxury hospitality segment, driven by growing demand for leisure experiences and destination-led celebrations."
Jaipur's profile as a wedding and leisure destination has strengthened over recent years, supported by improvements in road and air connectivity to the city and a sustained rise in demand for premium event spaces in heritage-adjacent environments.
Owner aligned to Rajasthan's heritage positioning
Rajan Jhiriwal, Director of Makson India Hospitality Pvt Ltd, said the project fits within the company's strategy of developing hospitality assets that draw on Rajasthan's cultural identity. The alignment between the owner's regional focus and the InterContinental brand's positioning in the upper-luxury segment informed the decision to partner with IHG on the project.
Makson India Hospitality has not publicly disclosed previous hotel projects. The Achrol resort represents the company's entry into a market segment where IHG brings established operational systems and a distribution network spanning more than 100 countries.
IHG's India footprint and expansion pace
IHG currently operates 52 hotels under six brands across India. Its development pipeline in the country stands at 98 properties, reflecting the pace at which international operators are committing to new agreements as domestic travel demand and premium hospitality investment both expand.
The InterContinental brand sits alongside Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, voco, Hotel Indigo and Six Senses in IHG's India-active portfolio. The Jaipur Achrol signing adds a resort-format project to a pipeline that has historically skewed towards urban business hotels and midscale city properties.
