Miramis Expands Portfolio with New Projects in Italy and Sweden Including Tuscany Estate and Stockholm Flagship by 2027
Miramis announces expansion across Italy and Sweden with new hospitality, wellness, and cultural projects including Tuscany estate and Stockholm flagship by 2027.
Miramis has announced a multi-country expansion strategy across Italy and Sweden, with a series of hospitality, culinary, entertainment, and wellness projects scheduled through 2027, including the development of a Tuscan agricultural estate and the transformation of a historic Stockholm hotel.
Expansion pipeline spans Italy and Sweden
The hospitality platform confirmed that its upcoming projects will focus on a limited number of destinations, with developments concentrated in Tuscany and Stockholm. The expansion includes new hotels, cultural venues, and mixed-use hospitality concepts designed to integrate local identity with contemporary experiences.
Key additions include La Capitana, an agricultural estate in Magliano, Tuscany, and the redevelopment of Hasselbacken, a historic hotel in Stockholm that will serve as the company’s flagship property in Sweden. Additional projects such as Gasometer, Backstage Hotel, and Cirkus Arena will further expand the group’s presence in Stockholm.
According to the company, the strategy emphasizes depth of development in selected locations rather than broad geographic expansion.
Tuscany projects focus on agriculture and boutique hospitality
In Italy, Miramis is expanding its footprint beyond the Tuscan coast into inland regions. The La Capitana project, scheduled to open in 2027, will be developed as a working agricultural estate featuring olive oil production and a winery, alongside 12 guest suites.
The property is positioned as a low-density hospitality concept centered on seasonal living and local traditions. Architectural design for the project is being led by Italian architect Marco Casamonti, with a focus on integrating contemporary design within a rural setting.
The development builds on the company’s existing presence in Argentario, where it operates LA ROQQA and Isolotto Beach Club. Additional investments in the region include the refurbishment of Hotel Torre di Cala Piccola and the Ex-Cirio project, which is being developed as part of a wellness-focused offering in the port area.
These projects collectively reinforce Miramis’ strategy of combining hospitality with gastronomy and local cultural elements within a defined geographic cluster.
Stockholm developments anchor international growth
In Sweden, Miramis is advancing a portfolio of projects centered in Stockholm, marking a significant phase in its international expansion. The redevelopment of Hasselbacken will position the historic property as the brand’s flagship hotel in the market.
The expansion also includes Gasometer, a large-scale venue designed to host live performances and immersive experiences. The project is intended to combine architecture, dining, and cultural programming within a single destination.
Gasometer is expected to host the Royal Swedish Opera in the coming years, establishing a link between the development and national cultural institutions. Supporting projects such as Backstage Hotel and Cirkus Arena will contribute to a broader hospitality and entertainment ecosystem in the city.
These developments highlight a strategy that extends beyond traditional hotel operations to include integrated cultural and entertainment assets.
Hospitality model combines hotels, culture and gastronomy
Miramis’ expansion reflects a model that integrates multiple elements of the hospitality sector, including accommodation, food and beverage, and cultural programming. Each project is designed to align with local context while offering a cohesive brand experience across locations.
In Tuscany, this approach is expressed through agriculture-led hospitality and small-scale boutique accommodation, while in Stockholm it is reflected in large-format cultural venues and urban hospitality assets.
The company’s existing projects, including LA ROQQA and Isolotto Beach Club, serve as a foundation for this model, combining design, gastronomy, and social spaces within destination-driven concepts.
Future developments will continue to follow this framework, with an emphasis on creating environments that connect guests with local communities and traditions.
Growth strategy led by focused destination development
Miramis’ expansion is being guided by a long-term approach that prioritizes selective growth over scale. The company stated that its strategy is based on developing a small number of projects with strong identity, rather than pursuing rapid geographic expansion.
The group operates under Qarlbo AB, an investment company with interests in hospitality, entertainment, biodiversity, and energy. This ownership structure supports a diversified approach to project development across sectors.
Leadership of the company’s next growth phase will be overseen by Chief Executive Officer Stefano Cuoco, who is tasked with advancing the brand’s international portfolio while maintaining its focus on local relevance and sustainability.
The announced projects in Italy and Sweden represent the next stage of Miramis’ development, combining heritage properties, new-build concepts, and mixed-use assets within a unified hospitality platform. As these projects progress toward completion by 2027, the company is positioning itself within a segment that blends boutique hospitality with cultural and experiential offerings.
