Miraval The Red Sea Saudi Arabia wellness resort officially opens on Shura Island, marking the luxury wellness brand’s first international expansion outside the United States.

The launch represents a major milestone for both Miraval Resorts and Saudi Arabia’s rapidly growing luxury tourism sector. Developed within The Red Sea destination by Red Sea Global (RSG), the adults-only all-inclusive wellness retreat introduces 180 luxury rooms, suites, and villas designed around mindfulness, wellbeing, and sustainable hospitality experiences.

The opening comes as The Red Sea destination experiences strong tourism momentum. According to Red Sea Global, occupancy levels reached 82 percent during the final days of Ramadan, while demand for upcoming Eid Al-Adha travel continues to rise significantly.

Located on Shura Island, the resort is positioned as a high-end wellness escape focused on relaxation, personalized experiences, and holistic wellbeing. Guests can access customized wellness programs that include yoga sessions, meditation, nutrition-focused dining, creative workshops, and mindfulness activities.

One of the most notable highlights of the Miraval The Red Sea Saudi Arabia wellness resort is the 3,000-square-meter Life in Balance Spa. The spa features 39 treatment rooms, making it the largest wellness facility currently operating on Shura Island.

Additional facilities include the Serenity Center, Body Mindfulness Center, wellness-focused culinary experiences, and the Miraval Challenge Course, which combines outdoor adventure with personal wellbeing programs.

Industry experts believe the opening reflects Saudi Arabia’s growing ambition to become a leading destination for luxury wellness tourism. The Kingdom has increasingly focused on high-value tourism projects that combine luxury hospitality with sustainability and cultural experiences.

The resort also aligns with Red Sea Global’s regenerative tourism strategy. Sustainability remains central to the destination’s long-term vision, including renewable energy usage, advanced waste management systems, and water conservation technologies aimed at achieving a 30 percent net conservation gain by 2040.

Hospitality analysts note that wellness tourism has become one of the fastest-growing segments within global luxury travel. Modern travelers increasingly prioritize mental wellness, health-focused experiences, mindfulness retreats, and environmentally responsible accommodations.

Saudi Arabia has been strategically investing in these sectors through large-scale tourism developments that target international luxury travelers while supporting economic diversification goals under Vision 2030.

Accessibility is another important advantage for the resort. Guests can reach Miraval The Red Sea through Red Sea International Airport, followed by a short electric vehicle transfer to Shura Island. To support rising visitor demand during Eid travel periods, additional flights have already been added to the airport schedule.

The opening of Miraval The Red Sea also strengthens the overall luxury hospitality portfolio of The Red Sea destination, which currently has 11 operational hotels with several more luxury properties expected to launch in the coming months.

Industry observers believe the project demonstrates Saudi Arabia’s increasing ability to attract globally recognized hospitality brands into emerging tourism destinations.

As international wellness tourism continues expanding, Miraval The Red Sea Saudi Arabia wellness resort is expected to position the Kingdom more strongly within the global luxury hospitality and regenerative tourism market while introducing a new standard for wellness-focused travel experiences in the region.
