NATHDWARA, May 21, 2026: The Radisson Blu Miraj Stadium in Nathdwara, near Udaipur, is preparing to open as India's first cricket stadium fully integrated with a five-star hotel, combining a 50,000-seat sporting venue with a 234-room Radisson Blu property in a single seamlessly connected complex developed by the Miraj Group under the Madan Paliwal Miraj Sports Centre.
Construction of the stadium was completed in 2025, and the complex is listed as "Opening Soon." It has already hosted limited fixtures including matches from the Asian Legends League. The venue awaits BCCI clearance for regular domestic and international matches, which would significantly expand its operational calendar and bring large-scale cricket traffic to the region.
75 percent of hotel rooms offer a direct view of the cricket field
The defining feature of the Radisson Blu Miraj Stadium is the physical integration of the hotel and the playing arena. Approximately 75 percent of the 234 hotel rooms and suites offer a direct view of the cricket field, giving guests the option of watching live matches from their own balcony, a format with no comparable precedent in India's hospitality or sports infrastructure.
The hotel and stadium share a single architectural envelope, with the hotel structure wrapping around part of the stadium bowl. The design uses parametric architecture, sleek metal finishes and purpose-designed floodlit night-time facades that give the complex an international visual character.
Aravalli views and a multi-purpose event destination
The project's location in Nathdwara, set against the Aravalli hills, adds a scenic dimension to the guest experience. The design incorporates sight lines to the surrounding landscape, allowing guests to take in panoramic sunset views of the Aravallis from the hotel and from parts of the stadium itself alongside the sporting and hospitality offering.
Beyond cricket, the complex is built as a full multi-purpose destination. Wedding lawns at the venue can accommodate up to 1,000 guests, and the property includes premium dining spaces, hospitality suites and large event and exhibition areas suited to corporate gatherings, private celebrations and social events. The combination positions the Miraj Stadium as a year-round destination rather than a venue that depends solely on a cricket calendar.
BCCI approval awaited for international and domestic fixtures
While the stadium has a seating capacity of approximately 50,000 and has already hosted exhibition-format cricket, formal Board of Control for Cricket in India approval for regular domestic and international fixtures is pending. Receiving that clearance would put the venue in contention for Ranji Trophy matches, Indian Premier League games and potentially one-day or Test international matches, each of which would generate significant hotel occupancy and regional tourism activity.
Until BCCI-sanctioned events begin, the venue continues to attract private tournaments, corporate cricket events and exhibition games, which, combined with the hotel's wedding and corporate event capacity, are expected to keep the complex operationally active.
Nathdwara's dual draw: cricket and the Shrinathji Temple
Nathdwara is home to the Shrinathji Temple, one of the most visited Vaishnavite pilgrimage sites in Rajasthan, drawing large volumes of religious tourists year-round. The Miraj Stadium's location puts it within reach of that existing traffic base, and its development is expected to create a combined cricket tourism and pilgrimage destination that strengthens Nathdwara's case as a standalone stop rather than a day-trip from Udaipur.
Udaipur, approximately 48 kilometres from Nathdwara, has well-established air and road connectivity to major Indian cities. That proximity gives the Radisson Blu Miraj Stadium straightforward access from a gateway city with an international airport, reducing one of the most common access barriers for sports tourism events at non-metro venues.
A new format for India's sports and hospitality infrastructure
Hotel-integrated sports venues are established in parts of Europe and the Middle East, most notably in Formula 1 and football contexts, but the format has not previously been developed at scale in India's cricket infrastructure. The Radisson Blu Miraj Stadium represents a private-sector bet on the commercial viability of combining premium hotel room inventory with direct sporting sight lines, a model that monetises the guest experience of live sport in a way that conventional stadium and hotel developments separately cannot.
