ROME, May 26, 2026 — Gruppo Barletta has secured new Saudi investment from the El-Khereiji family to support the expansion of its luxury hospitality and experiential tourism business across Italy and international markets.
The investment was completed through a €166 million capital increase that values Gruppo Barletta at approximately €1.172 billion post-money, with Global Hotels Real Estate acquiring an 8.5 percent stake in the company.
Saudi Investment Supports Gruppo Barletta Expansion
The Saudi-based Global Hotels Real Estate, linked to the El-Khereiji family, joined Gruppo Barletta as a strategic shareholder to support future hospitality and tourism projects.
At the same time, Italy’s Rovati family increased its ownership stake in the group through FIDIM, raising its participation from 12.5 percent to 23 percent.
Industry analysts say the deal reflects growing investment ties between Gulf investors and Europe’s luxury hospitality sector, particularly in Italy’s premium tourism destinations.
Gruppo Barletta plans to use the funding to strengthen Arsenale, its luxury hospitality and experiential travel division focused on hotels, rail tourism and lifestyle projects.
Arsenale Expands Luxury Hospitality Experiences
Arsenale operates as Gruppo Barletta’s luxury travel and hospitality platform, combining high-end hotels, tourism infrastructure and curated travel experiences.
The company has focused on projects that integrate luxury accommodations with destination-based experiences, including hospitality concepts connected to luxury rail tourism.
Hospitality executives say experiential travel continues gaining importance among high-value travelers seeking immersive tourism offerings beyond traditional hotel stays.
Industry observers also note that Italy remains one of Europe’s strongest luxury tourism markets, attracting international visitors from the Middle East, North America and Asia.
Rome and Milan Remain Key Tourism Markets
Gruppo Barletta’s hospitality growth strategy continues focusing on major Italian tourism centers including Rome and Milan while exploring expansion opportunities linked to Saudi Arabia and Gulf tourism markets.
Tourism experts say luxury train travel, cultural tourism and integrated hospitality experiences are becoming increasingly important within global premium tourism trends.
The investment also strengthens cross-border tourism cooperation between Italy and Saudi Arabia as both markets continue expanding luxury travel infrastructure and international visitor offerings.
