Known as “Hotel + X Maldives,” the feature enables travellers to book hotel stays together with additional services including seaplane transfers, speedboat transport, dining experiences, recreational activities, and curated resort experiences through Trip.com and Ctrip platforms.

According to Trip.com Group, the bundled booking model aims to deliver a more connected and flexible travel planning experience while helping travellers customise their stays according to personal interests and travel preferences.

Ru Yi, Assistant Vice President of International Markets APAC at Trip.com Group, stated that the company aims to create a more intuitive all-in-one travel booking experience by integrating accommodation with curated experiences and destination activities.

Industry experts believe bundled hotel experiences are becoming increasingly important within global travel trends as travellers seek convenience, personalisation, and seamless digital booking systems.

The Trip.com Maldives booking feature also provides hospitality partners with new opportunities to increase revenue streams through value-added services linked to hotel reservations. Resorts and tourism operators can now package accommodation with transport, wellness experiences, excursions, and dining options.

The launch coincides with Trip.com Group’s Maldives destination campaign titled “One Island, One Life,” running from May 11 to May 24, 2026. The campaign promotes luxury and lifestyle resorts across the Maldives through exclusive offers and discounted stays.

Participating resorts include Milaidhoo Maldives, Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas, Hard Rock Hotel Maldives, Dusit Thani Maldives, Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru, and Centara Grand Lagoon Maldives.

The campaign highlights the Maldives’ continued growth as a leading international luxury travel destination. Recent tourism data indicates strong visitor demand from key markets including China, Korea, Italy, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

According to tourism statistics, international arrivals to the Maldives increased significantly from 131,764 visitors in January 2022 to 224,788 visitors in January 2026. February 2026 arrivals also reportedly grew by 15.7% compared to the previous year.

The Kaafu region, which includes Malé and surrounding islands, remains the Maldives’ most visited tourism destination, accounting for the largest share of tourist arrivals.

Industry analysts note that younger travellers between the ages of 25 and 34 continue driving demand for personalised digital travel experiences and luxury resort stays across island destinations.

The introduction of the Trip.com Maldives booking feature reflects the growing role of travel technology platforms in reshaping global hospitality and tourism experiences through integrated, experience-driven booking systems.
