A&W Canada has officially brought back one of its most iconic menu items. The beloved A&W Root Beer Float has returned to Canadian menus for a limited time, giving fans a long-awaited chance to enjoy the classic summer treat once again.

A Nostalgic Favourite Returns

The A&W Root Beer Float combines creamy vanilla ice cream with ice-cold A&W Root Beer, a simple yet irresistible combination that was removed from Canadian menus back in 2022. Since then, Canadians have been vocal about wanting it back, and A&W Canada has finally listened.

Susan Senecal, CEO and President of A&W Canada, said the Root Beer Float holds a special place in Canadian summers, from nostalgic road trip stops to family moments enjoyed in the brand's iconic frosty mugs. She added the company is excited to revive the tradition for both longtime fans and a new generation of customers.

Where and How to Order

The A&W Root Beer Float is now available at all Canadian A&W locations while supplies last. Customers can also order it conveniently through the A&W app.

A&W Also Adds Smash Burgers to the Menu

The Root Beer Float return is not the only big move from A&W Canada lately. In late May, the chain also added smash burgers to its menu, available in single and double patty options. Both versions come topped with melted cheddar cheese, dill pickles, sliced onions and a secret sauce, all served on a toasted brioche bun.

Big Summer for Canadian Fast Food

A&W is not alone in making waves this summer. Tim Hortons updated its summer menu with dirty sodas, Dunkin Donuts announced its return to Canada with hundreds of new locations planned, and Jersey Mike's is nearly doubling its Canadian footprint heading into the season.
